I went up for Outlaw drags, no scoreboards, timeslips 12-3. Loose tech, etc. Ryan rode up with me (turns out he lives 3 minutes away from me in Miami) but he didn't bring his car.
My best run was my first, which also happened to be the very first run of the day at the track (I was the first car through tech, first in line in the staging lanes.) Prep was pretty good for that first pass... I ran 12.96 @ 109.94 with a 1.98 60'. I couldn't duplicate that short time, so I slowed down on my other passes, but my MPH was up there each time. Consistent low 13's... 13.0, 13.1, etc.
Now for the track conditions (aka excuses.) It was fucking HOT. I'd estimate it was easily 95* in the stands, 100*+ on the track. Ryan can verify this. Using one of those calculators, the DA was 2500+ at 95*, 2600+ with 100*... this works out to 12.4/12.5 et's. Who knows though, I guess I'll have to see in better weather. What I DO know was not helping me was weight... I was running with more than 3/4ths of a tank of gas, full interior, spare, jack, shit in the trunk, etc. Next time I go, I'll do some weight reduction and see what happens.
There were some FAST cars there... lots of single-digits. A lot of older cars, chargers, etc.. some drag bikes, and some modulars, including 3 03 Cobras. There was also a bad-ass T76 99+ bodystyle mustang... no idea what it ran, but it looked QUICK. Ryan got pics of a bunch of the cars, I guess he'll post those when he sees this.
Oh, something else... for one of my runs, I lined up against a fox with a huge cowl hood running nitrous. Tree lights up, I launch and hear BOOOOOOOOM. I'm all like "OH SHIT OMG WTF LOL?"... it scared the piss out of me. I looked in my rearview expecting to see pieces of my car lying on the track, but nothing... apparently the other car had a nitrous backfire, huge jet of flame shot out of his cowl. Scary.
