The tranny has been in the truck for a little over one year. I thought the flex plate was cracked because of a rattling noise but as the tranny came out I noticed a big crack starting from the passenger side were the ear was cut (the ears must be cun in a s10 so the tranny can fit) all the way back to the pump and another one up stopping at the top of the housing. The image is not the actual tranny that was cracked but just a representation showing the location with the red line being the crack. I am wondering why it cracked and what I can to with the new one to ensure the same will not happen again. The crappy shop that installed it did forget to bolt the tranny mount in. I noticed that while under it replacing a fuel pump. So the 1st 3 or 4 months the tranny had no mount supporting it from the back. My guess is it cracked back then and gradually got worse as time went on.

Tyler, I cracked a case a while back and it was due to a broken tranny mount and the case slamming into the floorboard on a hard launch. That might be what happened there too.

Ya I am hoping that is what it was but My tranny would not hit the floor board at all, but I bet it was a lot of stress on the bell housing. I want to make it out to import Vs. domestic night at MIR and don’t want it cracking at the track.

i think its probably because of the tranny mount like you said.

I dont think you should drive it much at all with it cracked like that. It can tear all kinds of crap up if it breaks.

if the housing completely broke into dont do it. the t350 housings are a dime a dozen.
hell..you can get an entire running one for $100.

The housings were just a poor design. I got a t350 that broke on the other end where the tail shaft is.

try and find a 700r4. You will be happy with the 1st and OD.

Don't worry it is already all the way out the moment. I took a look at that I was like shit time to sit.

I just hope I don't get owned by to many of turbo cars out there. The whole thing is kind of set up unfair. I can run 1 power adder but the imports can run 2. I think I will set it up for all motor and run the turbo 4 cars. Not sure yet need to look at the rules one more time.
