how many miles would i have to put on my new setup. brand new clutch and freshly rebuilt transmission, manual. i put 10 miles local on it then drove it to atlanta on this past friday. i put like 500 miles on it in one day. now should it be 500 city miles or just 500 miles. and on my way to atlanta on 75 i swear a red bmw 328ci(?) had derekfsu on the license plate. i only caught a glimpse and i wouldn't attempt to catch him after because i was already doing 75-80mph and with the 3.73 the tach was screaming at 2800. that's more than what i usually cruise at anyway  any suggestions for the break in period for the clutch and tranny??

Some people say break a clutch in how you plan on driving it. Some people say 1000miles. I think you should be fine since youve already got 1k on it as far as the clutch goes. To mu knowledge, there arent any parts in the transmission that need breaking in.

generally 500 miles stop and go traffic. that give the clutch disk and pressure plate to "marry" one another. but with todays clutch disk technology who knows if that matters anymore.
