How long were you guys screwed up for when you got your wisdom teeth out? Im getting mine done on thursday, and all my parts for the build should be here by then too, so obviously i want to be back on my feet ASAP. I was just wondering what to expect.

depends on how theyre comming in. If theyre straight then you'll only be a little sore for a few hours after.....If theyre comming in completely sideways like all FIVE of mine were then youll be in shear agony for a week and a half.

Three of my four weren't a problem, last one they removed they left a bone fragment. I was in agony for about two days. Finally dug around the hole with a Bic pen top and out comes the fragment, instant relief.

I think I need to have mine pulled. My left side has been cutting in my gums for about a week. It has done this a few times before, like the gum was swolen(SP) or something. Then after a week or so, It would stop. Its been about a week now, with no signs of going down.

2 days for me, I wanted to kill myself. After 3 days, it was just sore and I was bleeding like a stuck pig. I felt like dracula after drinking so much of my own blood. LOLz
After about a week, when you start eating normal food, all kinds of crap gets stuck in the new holes they made. So be ready for a little pain and a lot of irritation.

all mine are impacted, so i guess i should plan on being out for a while :???: That really sucks cause i was hoping to have the car on the road by this weekend and i've got quite a bit of work to do. Still need to install the motor, entire top end, AFPR, tranny, new clutch and flywheel, carb, and get rid of all the un-needed wiring.
I was miserable for a week and mine were impacted too. Hardly ate anything that whole week. I was bleeding for 2 full days as well. I hear some people are back to work the following day, so I think it just depends on the person. Good luck to ya.

MAN--this might be painful, but can you wait til they become exposed. it really helps out for them not to perform surgery to extract them from under the gums

i had all 4 of mine yanked at once, 2 were impacted, 2 werent...i was in pain for a little under a week. i sucked on some teabags(by that i mean i rolled them up, placed them between my stitched up gums and bit down) for the first couple days...tasted like ass but made the swelling go down pretty quick, and there was less bleeding.
ps- i was awake for the whole thing, and i dont reccomend it

The reason people choose not to go under is mostly the COST. It was some $900 cheaper not to have an anesthesiologist present to put your ass to sleep. That's a lot of dough.
But being the wuss that I was, I chose to go under. :owned:

thats exactly why i was awake...i was too po. the 12 shots to the gums wasnt the best feeling in the world. but it was kinda cool actually hearing a saw grind on your tooth almost in half, then cracking it into 2 pieces, then seeing it pulled out with a bloody glove, with hardly any pain at all...plus, they pumped me full of all that happy gas
LMAO at this mans sig^ :funny:
i yanked it off another forum i'm on...its freakin' great

Back in the old days when I had mine removed ( four) they didn't put you under.
You either got shots or gased. I was gas'ed whereas my brother was not. He hurt for a week while I was fine after the first night.

I was put under supposedly but I think I fainted when I saw the needle. I've never liked needles, I had surgery done twice for cavities with no pain killer either time. Oh, and back on topic, I was out for 2 days afterwards and then returned to Chick-fil-A for a 10 hour day.

I had 4 impacted got them all taken care of one morning. The Doctor gave me Valium. I woke up on some table went home was groggy for about an hour. I then played GT3 the rest of the day. The next day I was fine I went out with friends the only real problem was food. I didnt even use any of the pain killers they gave me. But it really does depend on the person.

Mine is free to me because of my insurance, the packet of info i got said that they are gonna give me nitrous and oxygen first, then a local anesthetic, and then put in an IV for pain meds. Sounds like im gonna be feeling pretty damn good when i wake up.

Who's your insurance carrier? Delta refused to pay for me to go under.

Me too, wife is retired PHS, basically a Military Service. When I was in it was called Champus. Pretty much like every other Insurance Carrier a PITA if your provider doesn't happen to file claims for you.

They are pretty good at getting the claims filed here at moody, as long as the base refers you to a clinic downtown then they pay for it.

Hope it goes well with you man. I had mine taken out by a Navy Dentist, full Captain as I remember. His first words were that "This is going to be a Samurai extraction", and he yanked all four out in record time. I was lucky though, no impaction. Everything was fine except for the one bone fragment that I spoke about earlier.
Gotta love Military Medical people. Everyone bitches about them, but I sure as hell would rather still be going to a good old Military Medical facility than where I go now.

Gald everything went smoothly. The swelling on mine is still very bad and I feel like a bum. Ive slept a majority of the past week. Not good for the business.

The worst part right now if trying to not disturb the blood clot cause i really dont want to end up with dry socket. Early i couldn't even sit up without feeling really lightheaded but i think its because of the pain meds on an empty stomack. I ate some mashed potatoes and just sent the wife down to Sonic for a cookie dough blast :) Not feeling so lightheaded anymore. I have slept most of the day though.

hell no! I'll probably be at the hobby shop in the afternoon though. I got my carb today and i got the heads and intake installed last night. I got the clutch installed but when i went to push in the clutch pedal it wouldn't go, i figured its just a heavy pedal with the new clutch and pushed a little hard and it popped, went to the floor, and stayed there. I think either the TOB was in right or the slave cylinder because even with it on the floor the clutch is still engaged. So i'll probably have to tear that apart again. Other than that i just need to route fuel to the carb, install the dizzy, radiator and fan, and see if she'll crank up.

you probally busted the slave cyl , you have to watch those the rod will fall below the fork check and see if you have brake fluid under the car
