For those of you interested, I did the fluid change fix that has been circulating on other forums (replace fluid with 3.2 qts of Havoline Dex.III). So far, it has cured 90% of the problems I was having with the 3650 tranny. I tried Royal Purple in my 02 gt and it had no effect. This seems to have worked...fyi.

I did this the other day with 3.2 of Redline, seems a little smoother but not much. The 3650 is just a big fat piece of shit. When it dies I think I'll find a nice TKO.

My 3650 is fine, I've never had any problems with it, shifts smoothly.

Or I could just know how to drive a manual. Jon had his problems when his car was as slow as mine.

The more believable answer is that you're one of the lucky ones who got a decent 3650, or that I have a heck of a lot more miles on my car. I can make my tranny shift smoothly if I baby the hell out of it... it functions fine, but it's a notchy bitch and I still get grinds. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to shift gears.
That aside, I'm sure putting this extra power through it is not helping matters any. I wish I could afford a viper-spec T56, but that ain't happening. I don't think a TKO is really affordable right now either. If I can find a nice new-ish 3650 out of a recently-wrecked 02/03, I'd love to swap out to see if there's any difference. I'd be willing to bet there's something noticeable.

How long have you known me? Everyone knows very well I'm not lucky. Me being lucky is less believable.

The fluid fix on the long term does not seem to have helped very much. Most of the problems are still there, just reduced some. I can live with them, though. I have no problem getting into gear at wot and that is all that really matters.
Go to NAPA and get a fluid pump that screws onto a gallon jug. Makes filling this tranny a piece of cake.
