Tensioner pulley(sp)

I was headed to a show at floyds saturday night. My tensioner(sp) had been making a whine for a few days. I figured it would just make some noise for a week or two...then I'd change it....WRONG-O!! While I was making the cirlce around floyds to find a parking spot...the noise stopped ...I was like :wtf: . A couple more feet I smelled Burning rubber....I pulled over..popped the hood...and it looked like a spider web under my hood, from when the pully locked up...it was wearing away the back of the belt....So I yanked the belt off...and limped it to a non-tow spot..Went in and watched the show :mrgreen: after the show..I drove it to the wal-mart comming into tally..from perry. With no belt...Didnt run hot any! I love cold weather. Battery wore a lil. And now i must say...what did people do before power steering was invented!! :joystick:

that sucks dude the same thing happend to my dads 4 runner it looked liked someone dumped black confetty in the engine bay :roll:

Was it you're idler pulley that broke? They will come all to pieces when they go. Lfp has them,billet, should be no more than $80.

The pulley on the tensioner assembly. The bearing seized up. The next day, i attempted to take the bolt out....Just to see if I could...It was basically welded on.
