Anyone ever use the kumho excsta 711 or 712 before? If so what did you think of them? Wet? Dry? Cornering? Tread life? I keep going thru tires, I cant find any good really good decent priced tires.

they suck... shitty wet traction, shitty dry traction... they are cheap, that is all... and the tread life was pretty good... hard to find descent tires for cheap, you want performance you got to pay...

Look at the Ecxta MX. Good tread life, good grip.

ecsta 711 were shitty on my car. i had them for a bit and combined with my open differrential my rain traction was almost none. on hills i'd have to stop, start slow, and sometimes start again. and they wore out quick.

I havent been too picky about street tires in the past just because I know if i want to go fast, I bolt up my prostars. The 711's are cheap and they lasted me for a while, even with doing this...

:funny: Thats Great!
But on topic. A a guy a used to ride to class with had a pair of 711s on his car. We had to stop upside Springhill Road one morning and change the left rear one when it jumped off the rim for no damn appearent reason. I never found out if it was a problem with the rim or the tire but it pissed me off to have to help him jack the damn car up in Janurary!

I can attest to the not cheap for performance tires, cough, 1100 bucks, BFG KD's, cough, cough. They do however look extremely badass stacked in my garage along with the rest of my "parts waiting for a home" stack. :D

Now that you said that, I just realized that I just helped a friend that had the tread come of two of his 711's this past weekend. If what he told me was right, it was just a bad batch of tires. Be on the lookout for that.

I am currently running 712s car, traction is decent when new, really falls off near the end of the life of the tire. I don't really mind it, for less than half the price I can sacrifice a little performance, its not like you can really do that much on the street anyway.

712's aren't bad...just realize they dont hook great...once they're hooked they stay hooked pretty well...but if they start spinning they dont stop.

I had some 712's and the wet traction was bad, the dry traction was pretty decent, and the tread life was bad.

there's something wrong with 60k tires being 2/3-worn after only 6 months..... :secret:

I got 25k miles out of my 711's--they were soft for a month then turned rock hard. they would stick after heating them good at the track--they were good in wet and dry.
i've heard good things about the Fuzion tires--i told myself if i needed another set of cheap tires i would try those over the kumho's

I had 2 711's I believe on my car. One blew out in the middle of traffic for no reason, no puncture at all anywhere and that was with only about 6 months. The other lasted about one year before the tread was gone and I had to replace it.

Thanks for all of the input, I will be needing some new tires before long. So I needed to try and find the best deal on the best tire. Looks like Kumho is not the way to go. I will check into those fuzions and also I saw another brand on the tire rack I am thinking about getting, Avon tech I believe was the name. Hell maybe I will strike it rich and tire cost wont be a problem. :)
For the mean time I guess I should keep my foot of the tire spin pedal.
Thanks,
Stephen

712 supra's are a good mild street tire. If you drive hard, corner, stab the gas or whatever, they wear out real quick. Not to mention they wear out fast as hell. Traction? Forget about that shit.
I know they aren't top of the line tires, but I have eagle F1's on my car and I love them compared to the other tires I had. I also ran nitto's and they were better all around, but the stickiest ones I ever had were the BFG Comp t/a's. Very good tire.
