130,000 miles on a stocker + about 30 doughnuts in a field + constant 4800RPM in 2nd gear + Way to many bud selects = Dead Power steering pump.

Ya dont miss luxarys(sp?) till there gone. I had to drive from right out-side live oak to perry with no power steering. :joystick:

Also...Getting a pulley off of a pump, with a advanced auto pulley puller kit aint worth a damn!

Put some PB Blaster on the old ps pump hub and let it soak for a little while and it should make getting the pulley off a lot easier if you havent already got it.

It wasnt the donuts, the Bud select, of the 4800 rpm in 2nd gear that killed your ps pump. It was you turning the wheel all the way to the "stop" and kept hanging on it. That will kill a ps pump in no time. Plus, if your truck had a little power, the back end should have just slid on around. :taunt:

I wasnt holding it to the stop. It was sliding around. I was actually turning the wheel a lil...let it start sliding...and then cut the wheel the other way for a nicer spin around. it was mainly the miles on the pump. it has been making noise since I bought the truck. and I "finished" it off.

the sad part about the whole deal was. I told someone I burnt the pump up. And that I was gonna fix it. And they said take it to someone and let "them" fix it. And she got mad when I said pussys dont wrench on there own cars...."unless you got a a BMW, or something like some members here have, that would be easier to take it to someone...." but if your gonna own a vehicle....Know how to work on it!!unless ya cant help it.
