Hey man I saw your car in your sig and it looks like I have seen that car around here before. You ever get up to Thomasville any? What all have you done to your car? I see you have pretty good times posted. What dragstrip do you go to?
Take care,
Stephen

thanks for the kind words. my car is actually down right now and has been for a couple of weeks. unfortunately as good as black looks on the SS its the most common color built--like 12000+ for the 2001 year alone
As far as going to thomasville--i usually only head through when going to the track in valdosta. when my car was stock, the quickest et i ran was 12.9 @ 108mph--on street tires and full weight, but it took 2 years of me going to the track to run that time. it usually ran a consistant 13.2-13.4. but earlier this year i threw a small comp cam and the necessary supporting mods in it and had the engine dyno tuned. it put down 388rwhp/368rwtq which i think are good enough #'s. and now i'm dealing with a lot of stuff breaking since i put down more power--tranny and rearend. i think its got better than a 12.55 in it, but the track shows me just how slow i drive my car. new 4.10 gears in and when my car is ready to race again at the track, i'll be hunting low low 12's. but if you don't know by now, i enjoy street racing way more than going to the track.
future plans for my car--fix/paint front bumper cover-built rearend (inevitable)-bigger cam and possibly heads. i'd like this car to last as long as the payments do, but i'm skeptical about this due to recent problems i'm having. the engine is still way good but everything else keeps breaking on me.
hope this has answered your questions. feel free to PM me with any specifics or if you would like to run sometime.
edit: if you're interested in a SS hood, lemme know cuz i'm interested in an ultra Z hood.

The guy on Thomasville was probobly Tank, he works at the summerbrook golfcourse, he has a 2002 SS its black with the pimp 10 spokes. He was the coolest guy that was there when I worked there, hes like 59 and drives a sweet car, kinda like Gt and Kinson :taunt:

I may think about taking you up on the SS hood. I almost bought one but I wanted to be different, So I got the Ultra Z from SLP and The SS spoiler from RKsport. I have yet to get the car painted, so the hood is still grey gelcoat. I hope after the holidays it will see new paint. I have been to Cecil to the dragstrip a few times and ran my car. Never could do much better than 13.5@106, my 60 was always 2.0+ and since my last visit about 6 or 8 months ago my car has been whining from the rear. So I decided to take it easy on it before it got too expensive. I havent really done much performance wise to the car, but I plan to change that when the money is not as much of an issue. If you ever get up another trip to the track let me know, I will see if me and some of my racing friends wanna go. I have a friend who works in Tallahassee but lives in Thomasville that drives a 96 SS, you may wanna run him when you get back up. His car is Bad ass for an LT1.
Take care,
Stephen
