Sharing is for n00bs... Newsgroups is where it's at.
Seriously, sharing is risky. W/ Newsgroups, you can remain anonymous, not to mention you can get almost anything you want @ really fast speeds.
Only downside is the monthy fee... about $15 a month. Somehow I think you can swing that..

Used to use Kazaa but got tired of the spyware that kept creeping on. Now I use Limewire and it doesn't give me any problems.

I have the maturity of a 12 year old, so I count. I use Limewire. If I ever go to court I'm going to beat the system. I don't allow uploads so I'm not technically file sharing, I'm just taking.

I don't believe a non-uploader has ever been sued.

I just made that up, I don't know if it would work. I only take 80's songs no one else listens to anyway.

As I understand it, the RIAA folks download music from your computer that has a specific "serial number" type thing imbedded into the track. This allows them to show that you could not have purchased it somewhere because of that number. This proves you got it from sharing.
If you do not share, the RIAA cannot download from your computer. If they can't tell who has it, they can't come after you. I'm sure this was the deal when they started going after people a while back. It may have changed since then.

Kazaa is great for popular songs... plus no spy ware and it is fast...
Emule for large files and applications, or zip files of complete albums... you can get zip files containing every album an artist ever made.
Emule starts slow, but speeds up as it runs... it is weird but good...
the RIAA is mostly going for that SUPERNODE feature people are using in some of the networks, with illegal music... but removing the material from the share as soon as you download it is always a good idea.
as for newsgroup, they are cool, but dont believe they cant track you, they can, hell, I could... and I dont have their resources... :)

If you get Kazza or Ares or whatever do a search for a "lite" version, they don't have any spyware or other bad stuff in them.
