I just saw this (http://www.sr20forum.com/showthread.php?t=146540)on another board. Here is a news article about it http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11464762/ if there are witnesses that insist it was street racing, I don't see how he will get out of it.

to bad he'll have to pay so much for a lawyer just to prove he is innocent

If the cops let him go immediately when he said he wanted to speak to his lawyer, they don't have squat on him. Not sure how they could legally take him into custody with handcuffs and tow his car...of course, IANAL - I just watch actors play them on law and order.

what I can't believe is that they are accusing this guy if being part of an accident, a hit and run no less. This guy has absolutely no body damage on the car and for christ sakes there were witnesses! I can't believe the truth becomes this fucked up and I hope to GOD this guy gets a decent enough lawyer that will prove his innocence and then counter sue the fucking police department for being so incompetent! not to mention the fucking media will report anything these days, even if it remotely resembles something truthful.

The problem is, the witnesses that saw that accident are probably going to say it was street racing because that is what everyone else is saying. Also, the media will probably try and pressure them into saying it as well. Whenever someone sees two loud cars driving near eachother, it is automatically street racing. I really hope that guy gets off, he is definitely getting shafted.

man thats messed up, he dident do a dang thing and hes getting in trouble for it, and they dident even read him his rights thats a mistrial right there, that police department won't even get in trouble either becaues "they thought he was the one that hit her" shows you how many imperfections our criminal justice system has in it:bs:

wow, that is completely fucked up, i dont even know what to say. (at least if thats how it really went down.) either way it shows you how the media completely changes events to get a good profitable story, and yet again that police suck

Either way won't at least one of them still be in trouble seeing that it's still a hit and run ?

The guy with the red sentra who claims to be very against street racing, was driving in front of the mustang. He heard a pop the mustang swerved across a few lanes of traffic. He stopped to see if it was all ok other people stopped as well. When he saw the cops show up he thought it was all under control so he left. The cops came to his house cuffed him and took him to the station then questioned him. During the questioning process is when he first learned about the pedestrian being hit. They told him there where witnesses that said he had been street racing and they let him go saying it was not over. He was also very upset to see his car all over the news and him being labeled as a street racer, hit and run driver, and other things. Those where the basics of the thread.

Every single vehicle accident in Orlando is now officially caused by street racing. If you have a ride and are even near a crash, someone is going to dump on you...the best part of last night's arrest on the news here was the cops all quoting the defendant's racing forum posts!

When i was arrested the cops didn't read me my rights and my lawyer said that it doesn't matter if they do or don't. And cops will add a racing charge against anything, I was arrested for speeding and they added a racing charge because I was "racing against the clock", what kind of shit is that. Fact of the matter is that if you drive a car that even looks fast, you are going to be hated by anyone that has a badge. But motorcycle riders have it way worst.
