in a 2001 camry.

- the a/c only turns on when the fan speed switch is at 3 or 4 (out of 4).

- the cig lighter power adapter blows fuses when an accessory is plugged into it. replacing it doesn't help.

any thoughts on what to do or where to take it?

I can't think of one thing that could cause both of the problems, but the a/c blower sounds like it could be the blower motor resistor.

If you havent got it fixed yet take it to Professional Automotive Center. all they do is Japanees and a few Saabs. Talk to John.

possible problem in climate controls also.

what accessories are you plugging up?? if they are drawing too much voltage, than your fuse is gonna fry. i've seen cell phone cords start to go bad and blow accessory fuses everytime you plug it in.

its just the cell phone. which is wierd because we've been plugging in a cell phone charger into it since we got the car a few years back
