ok, dont laugh, but I pay off my car this xmas, and now that I am divorced, I need a 2nd car, something kinda pratical, so I was thinking, a mustang GT, it is sporty looking with a trunk and sort of fast...

I like the new body styles and the hoods with the raised intake, that is sweet, what year did those hoods exist? I know steph's 2000 did not come one, so I was curious what year they started, actually, at this point, any suggestions or ideas you ford people have for one let me know, please, I want to put an extaust, springs, to lower it and increase handling, and take the rear wing off, like greg's, and a short throw and air intake is all I am really looking to do, keep it safe so I can play with mine...

thoughts?

thanks guys...

Well, sounds to me like you might like a 2001 Bullitt GT. Scoop, no wing, already lowered with a tuned suspension and Tokico shocks and struts, best SOHC intake right now, limited edition, etc.

but if you want a hood scoop that accually works...you need a 2003 mach mustang

This is true. The raised hood first appeared on the bullit and then standard on 02+.

Actually, I believe the 99 35th Anniv GTs had a hood scoop as well.

TRAITOR!!!

J/K  If you want a Stang, look into the 01+ body style. I think thats when they went to the hood scoop for all GT's.

99 35th anniversary had the hood scoop, the Bullitt and every 01 GT. 02 had the Pony Edition where you can get the scoop on a v6, garbage. 03 has the 99 01 Cobra hood on all v6s, bastards. You'd think they'd do something for the people in the GT's...

They did, they gave you a V8. Some people are never happy.

We've been at 260 since 99. The v6s were bumped up in hp, the cobra went from 320 to 390 and now there's the Mach1. We shoulda been pushed up to like at least 290 for 01. I want retroactive action!!!!

And look at the increase in price that people have to pay for more power. Whats an 03 Cobra goin for again, $36k-$38k? DAMN!!! If Im gonna spend that much on a car, Id save a lil longer and but a Z06.

i would want a z06 also, but they seem out of my price range...

anyway, this Bullitt Gt, is that an aftermarket car like steeda? I am so not a ford guy...

Nope, special edition form the factory. They made so many more 03 cobras than they originally anticipated that no one in their right mind is charging over sticker for them. That's why Tallahassee Ford has had the same ones for months.

If you like DHG (Dark Highland Green), I know of a pristine example of a Bullitt for sale here in town. It's up for 19K, it's perfect in every way, has 20K miles on it, and has all of the mods you mentioned already done (and, ironically, nothing else modded) plus special leather and trim plus it comes with subframe connectors from the factory. Dude is like 55 years old and drives like a granny. Maybe he's a Eunach.

$19K might seem steep, but you wouldn't have to do a thing to the car. And yes, I do work off commissions; he's got a daughter he promised I could have if I find a buyer for him.

alright, come over to our side Matt!! The Bullitt definitely is the car for you. They are actually faster than the cobra's, except for the 03 of course. I was reading an article about the Bullitt vs, 01 Cobra vs Mach 1. Mach 1 was fastest, but not by much. Bullitt was right behind it then the Cobra was last :(

Kelley Blue Book says it's worth $17,700 private party value, but that's not including the mods. It's probly still a good deal, maybe you can talk him down a little. JUST BUY IT MAN, AND LET ME DRIVE IT!!!
