1995 Mustang GT, 5.0 H.O. (if that makes any difference, looking at all this shit it may)
I don't know if it has EEC IV, TFI, duraspark, or any of this other stuff, so Im hoping one of you will.
Here's all the ones I have found that arnt a hundred dollars just because its red and has MSD on it.
FMS (http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?lang=-1&catalogId=10002&storeId=10001&categoryId=17735&searchItemId=66731)
ACCEL (http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=10002&storeId=10001&categoryId=14459&parentCategoryId=10439&langId=-1)
FMS but on MustangsUnlimited that I think is the same thing but isn't listed the same (http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=M12106B302+01)
Any one?
I guess what Im asking is if 1 and 3 are the same thing, because it would save on shipping since Im getting my starter and wires from Jegs.

I imagine that the distributor might just be plain different when they converted the motor to EFI, something gay like clips in a different spot or something dumb like that. Who cares....just don't get the carb'd one....

the efi distributor is controlled by the computer, where as the carb distributor is pretty much only controlled by the shaft being turned and therefore turning the rotor, which sparks every time it gets to the firing position on the cap. A carb distributor also has advance controlled by either vacuum or centrifugal force and a efi one is controlled by the computer.
I didn't read through this but it should have some good info for you. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/ignition-system.htm

Say what? On a 5.0 EFI Mustang, this is news to me. Perhaps you are thinking of the 2.3L or 4.6 mod motor?

I may be wrong, im going from general knowledge and i dont know shit about fords. I didn't think that a SBC would be much different in that aspect. If i gave wrong info i apoligize.
I definately don't know all there is to know about fords - I could even be completely wrong here. I think ford began "testing" the non-adjustable electronic distributor-less ignition with the 2.3...I unfortunately had one until it died on me. The funny thing is that the old 2.3 in my mustang uses the exact same coils as later 4.6 mod motors.

Distributor-less ign didnt come until the 4.6 in 1996. Our cars adjust timming by rotationg the distrib.
Found a somewhat useful page :)

1991: Entry-level Mustangs receive an improved 105-hp, twin-plug 2.3-liter four-cylinder with distributorless ignition. All V-8 models now come with new, five-spoke 16x7-inch cast aluminum wheels.

yeah but only after pulling the spout plug and disconnecting the computer. the only thing you're doing is adjusting base timing but the computer takes care of advancing and retarding if detonation occurs.

Close, but the EEC-IV system in the stang does not have a knock sensor to detect detonation. So no, it does not pull timing in the case of detonation. But it does change the timing based on water temp and air temp.

Out of curiosity, should I pull the SPOUT connector out if Im just timing it by ear and not hitting it w/ a gun?

you should always adjust the base timing with the spout connector disconnected in my opinion, and i also believe that you should time with a timing gun.

yeah i forgot to take it out one time and it was all out of whack. when you pull the spout out you will hear it idle down and you can tell the difference.
and no you dont have to disconnect the computer or whatever
