I finished detailing Brian's sisters car today. The paint was HEAVILY oxidized. Here are some before and afters:

That's all I have for now. I have a really cool pic of half the hood done I took with Zach's camera. I'll try and get the pic from him tonight.

AIO, there are many many products that will yield the same results. Any product that will get out swirls will also eat through oxidation. With that said, you need far more than just some polish to get the oxidation out. I chewed up 3 PC pads (2 were brand new) trying to eat through the oxidation. You will also need a high speed buffer (meaning a random orbital or a rotary - only if you are VERY experienced). Attempting to get swirls or oxidation by hand is an exercise in futility.

man, i hope you made some from that job. i know how much work goes into a job like that, and you said you went through two pads. i know they are not cheap by any means. which pads where you useing brett? light cutting or the other cutting pad to get the oxidation out. i know one thing, job like that take all day!

I used one light cutting pad and 2 heavy cutting pads. The first pad lasted for like half the hood.

That is just rediculous!! I've got some water spots that aren't gonna come out with Intensive Polish and Final Polish II. Think we might could hit the goat with that stuff one day to see if it can get em out?
EDIT:
Better yet, just let me see the bottle and I'll order some myself (and a couple more pads haha).

IP should eat through those. That stuff works the same as what I used. I think all you'll need to order is a more agressive pad and bump the speed on the PC. What level pad have you been using??

The yellow lake country pad. The orange one says light, so I assume this one is heavy (or maybe there is heavier that isn't listed on PakShak).
It gets em out for the most part, but you can still see em under flourescent light. In sunlight its fine.
I use the yellow with IP, the white polishing pad with FP2 and then the black finishing pad with Clearkote Machine glaze.

Interesting. I use a different brand pad, but the yellow LC pad with IP should work. I would bump the speed to 5-6 and move at a glacial pace. It is going to take several very slow passes to get through the water spots. Now, there is another trick that will probably work since your car and paint are so new. I'll look at it at Sonic and see what's up.

Yeah, I usually do it at like 4 max, and go over it kinda quick since I pretty much loath IP (i love the results, just hate the process). I'll just crank up the speed and slow down next time i do it. Its really only the roof thats a problem... a little on the hood and trunk, but the roof is the worst.

That's the biggest problem with polishes. Some take FOREVER to break down. If you spin the PC faster, the polish will break down faster. If it still takes forever, you are probably using too much product. But I would definately try that before ordering other polishes. IP is really good shit and should do the trick.

The top is easy. I think I have some before and afters of mine as well. I'll try and dig them up.

Not sure how I missed your post, but I did.
Anywho, I'd be glad to help.
