ok so my car hardly ever goes into reverse unless i force it really hard and work with if for a bit while smashing the clutch pedal down. going into 1st is catch and go and is usually really stiff along with just shifting in general. its ok when the car is moving (i suspect because of syncronization(sp?)) and for thoes of you who have driven an M6, that little "bump" you have to push the shifter past to go into reverse isnt there anymore (reverse lockout cylonoid??). very strange. the clutch lets out fine and in the correct spot when your letting up on the clutch pedal and its in gear, its just actually getting in gear its stiff/firm/not smooth. and i notice when i had it all apart the slave cylinder pushrod was bent. what do yall think? if nothing else where do ya'll think i should take it to have the "more experienced" look at it?

Throw it away. Do an auto swap.

Sounds like the slave cyl is not moving the clutch far enough. With someone pushing the clutch you should have at least 1.5 to 2 inches of movement if I am not mistaken. But if there is nothing internal with the tranny wrong thats whats happening. Get a new slave cyl with push rod bleed it WELL and let us know.

the slave cylinder pushrod was bent.
well that is a problem that could cause it all. Like I told Jacob to tell you, bleed the system. If you have air in the lines it can be kinda random. But I would start with a new slave, after bleeding the system.

unfortunatly even after reading the 2 different directions i have for bleeding the system i still am not sure about how to and am probably gonna take it chevy to have it bled so hopefully it gets done right. i am also going to see if they sell an aftermarket slave cylinder with a bleeder valve. so i dont have to worry about it anymore.

it should just need to be gravity bled, i.e. take of the hose and let it drip into a cup until it runs steady.

maybe its cause you took a chisel to the block around the throwout bearing.... or maybe that was just dumb... :taunt: i agree with kyle... you need to have the damn thing bled... if thats not the problem maybe the bent pushrod is cauing a lack of pressure.... so if bleeding doesnt work, replace your slave and if that doesnt work kick yourself in the ass for not listening to me about not getting the car in the first place.

this just proves how fucking stupid you are...first: the pilot bearing sits in the crank shaft...not the block. second: that is an actual methood for removal...ask anyone. third: i dont think i even hit the "block" or crankshaft as most people call it. and even if i did it would not have had this kind of effect.

so angry.... my bad, i did say throwout bearing, i meant piolt bearing..... second it may be a method for removal but its a last resort method, if you had just borrowed a decent imapct puller you wouldve had it out in 5 mins.... and third i was making fun of you, not siteing the hack marks in your block to your current problem.... geezz you give a guy a semester of training at lively tech and he thinks he knows everything.....
