316.614 Safety belt usage.--
(1) This section may be cited as the "Florida Safety Belt Law."
(2) It is the policy of this state that enactment of this section is intended to be compatible with the continued support by the state for federal safety standards requiring automatic crash protection, and the enactment of this section should not be used in any manner to rescind or delay the implementation of the federal automatic crash protection system requirements of Federal Motor Safety Standard 208 as set forth in S4.1.2.1 thereof, as entered on July 17, 1984, for new cars.
(3) As used in this section:
(a) "Motor vehicle" means a motor vehicle as defined in s. 316.003 that is operated on the roadways, streets, and highways of this state. The term does not include:
1. A school bus.
2. A bus used for the transportation of persons for compensation.
3. A farm tractor or implement of husbandry.
4. A truck of a net weight of more than 5,000 pounds.
5. A motorcycle, moped, or bicycle.

But they were doing a big advertising campaign for buckle up in your truck.. LMAO. I would try them but the damn seatbelt bell in my truck is soo fucking aggravating and it dosent shut off by pushing the button like in older Fords. Now I am going to go look at my net weight though.. I am curious.
To turn off the seat belt minder, you have to go threw a series of locks and unlocks of the belt. Look in the owners manual, should be in there.

I have never weighed my truck so I dont know actual weight I cant believe it would actually be 1800 lbs less than posted weight on the door. On the other hand I looked at the Mustang Registration and they say it weighs 3900. Hardtop V-6

You need to have the seat belt on when a plain jane white impala pulls up beside you and your in a Z-28 convertible and you got the top down ,or you get OWNED for $76.50  of course the 71mph in a 55 didn't help either but he gave me a warning for that
No, this is not a sign generator online. It is an actual sign and message.

It was found a long while ago that a school bus with a weight around 5 tons and padded seats/seat bars are actually just as safe/safer than seatbelts. So, if we all weight are cars down... I love that sign!
When I was a highschool football player, we were riding back in the bus and stopped for some railroad tracks and then starting moving again...what we didn't realize is the idiot driving the cheerleader van behind us slammed into use pretty badly - a cheeleader or two ended up with broken noses I believe but we didn't feel a thing.
