One of my piece of shit baer crossdrilled rotors was warped, so I had to tear the whole thing apart again.

Got some new rotors at the advance warehouse, and had some other pads lying around.

First, let's recap what I did before. I changed my rear brakes with my wheels on because my wheel lock key rolled down the hill while I was taking my tires off. Couldn't find it.

Thanks to Bryant for fitting me in over at tire kingdom and pulling the wheel locks off.

After 4 hours of wrestling with "the cube", which didn't even fit right in the first place, I got the new pads and rotors on. I also figured i'd rotate my tires.

So, the rear tires are worn on the inside, which tells me I need a rear-end alignment. great. Upon a test drive, I've got a funky vibration around 40-up, the drivers side brakes are sticking, and the passenger side pad isnt even contacting the complete rotor surface. It also pulls to the passenger side now. Christ. :jess:

I hate cobra brakes. I suppose im gonna pull em off, or take em somewhere. :jess:

Edit: thanks to tony for trying to find a set of master wheel keys in the mazda garage. I appreciate that as well.

I loathe Cobra brakes as well. I'm never touching mine again. I'd rather pay someone to put them on.

I still cant see how you did brakes with wheels on and Cobra brakes at that.

You need to grind two tabs off the one side of hte cube you're supposed to use.

Yeah nobody sells one that fits one of those I mean what does ford say to use in that case.

18" cobra R's are big and open enough where you can remove the caliper and change the pads without taking the wheels off.

I posted about it a few weeks earlier. im the type of person that will spend an hour trying to save 10 minutes. I know, im a lazy bastard

There is a tool that one can buy off a tool truck, or elsewhere, that does the same thing the cube does, except it works. Oh, BTW...Cobra brakes are easy, y'all are just pussies.

I have the kit for doing rear brakes with screw in calipers, and would be glad to help anyone who has them. I also have the caliper press for dual piston calipers for the front.. no using an old pad and big pliers.

they certainly are. I had both the front pads and rotors changed in an hour.

You shut your mouth. If sstony says they are a no go, they are a no go.

This tool he speaks of is spectacular. It takes all of about 7 seconds to compress the caliper.

so now everyone tells me there's an easy way of doing them... after I've already got premature gray hair from busting my ass on them.

Well, I've only been privy to the tool once and that was when my car was at TK and the tool was Lloyd's (SATAN).
