well i finally broke down and bouoght me an early christmas present..... if ya'll didn't know my dodge 3500 transmission has been on it's way out for the last 161k miles..... after the cruise last month it started shuttering real bad when it shifted and now it won't go into reverse for about 15 seconds or so after you shift it in R and it shudders when it finally does engage...... so i ordered a Goerend Brothers tranny.....
Tripple disc T/C (stock is single) with a lower stall than stock (lifetime warranty)
Worked over valvebody (lifetime warranty)
48RE clutch drum (bigger than the 47RE that was in it)
Billet input and intermediate shafts
Billet 1-2 shift lever
Hi pressure/volume front pump
Mag Hitech tranny pan
Billet SFI rated/approved flexplate
and the tranny itself has a 100k mile warranty.....
i also had to throw some go fast goodies on the order too so i also got some 191 Delivery Valves and a 4K rpm Governor spring conversion kit to make my now 3K gov. springs pull to 4K rpm before defueling.... once it's all together it'll be a whole new beast..... MUCH MORE BLACK SMOKE!!! not to mention much more usable power to the ground.....
sorry i'm just so excited.....

sweet that thing is gonna be real nice. did you do that mod where you grind down the fuel plate (star plate or somethin) that is supposed to give you some power?
yours is a 12 valve right?

12 Valve 4 Life....
ya mine has a 100 plate in it i ground.... it has a severe lack of defueling on the top end.....i've been thinking of grinding it to a 0 but with the added fuel when i put the 191's in i might need to keep it a 100.... i know i'm gonna have to move it back and the afc housing..... though the stock plate would be nicer to controll the EGT's as it'll peg my 1600* pyro now.... here is a comparison on some plate profiles....

thats cool, 191s are injectors im guessing?

naw 191's are the delivery valves... don't know exactly what the number stands for but it flows ALOT more fuel than the stock ones..... suspose to be good for ~100hp with an efficient charger..... after all this is done i'm lookin to get a High Tech Turbo Sledpuller 66 turbo and then i'm gonna get some marine 370HP injectors so i'll have the air and the fuel.... the sledpuller/ injector combo should be good for somewhere in the neighborhood of 550HP 1200+ Tq @ 52PSI to the wheels..... on a good day..... it should be a fun ride then...... might even be able to keep up with GT tony's 06' 6 oh no....

52 PSI!? holy crap, what kind of turbo? I knew diesels ran high boost but damn, how can the block and bottom end take that?

I'm running 40-41PSI with a stock HX35 Holset i need to back it down to 35PSI as anything over that is out of the compressor map and the discharge temp rises rather quickly. the HTT SP66 is capiable of 52PSI + but 52 is where it seems to be most efficient. then there are guys out there with twins that run from 50PSI to upwards of 100+PSI......... i could prolly get away with that for a while with a stock head but it wouldn't last very long... the head gasket that is.... before too many more upgrades i know i'll need some head porting, bigger valves, O-ring, and ARP studs.... i know the head work will run me about a grand or so for a nice head job and the studs run anywhere from $440 to $540 depending if i go with standard or heavy duty..... suprisingly the bottom end is perty stout..... IIRC it's like 18:1 compression ratio cast dish pistons....... you can get some industrial pistons that lower the CR to like 12:1 or so to keep Cyl pressure down ....... most guys do that and retard the timing so they can run a big single turbo and a bunch of nitrous...... me on the other hand will have stock CR and advanced timing (stock 12.5* will be 17-18*) big turbo sometime in the future and *maybe* a small shot of nitrous.......it'll get-er-done whichever route i go....

Diesel compression is 300 psi plus. So boost is no problem for a good block.

ya propane would be nice.... i'm always lookin for a good kit... i got meth injection on it now....... i'm gonna have Williams Automotive in Bainbridge do the tranny install and by that time my back should be "better" and i can install the gov springs and delivery valves myself.... if not i'm gonna get Darren Morrison @ Pro Street Diesel in Cairo to do that at the same time he tabs the dowel pin and advances the timing.......

good to hear! i went to the 1/8th mile in nc, a little further south than chesapeake and they had some diesels running nitros/propane on 39-40 in boggers making 7.2s out there.im glad you have stacks though haha, they had to have the diesels set to blow exhaust to the outer edge of the tracks so as to not fog the opponent.when do all the other goods get in?

whenever i get enough money saved up to buy the turbo, injectors, 3 piece manifold, AFE intake, and new silicon intercooler boots..... i might go ahead and install the delivery valves but i don't know if it'll be too much fuel..... i'm gonna install the governor springs in the morning hopefully and i know that'll help some........i want to run the truck now cause i got a tranny that will handle the abuse..... i might go to cecil.... or albany.... i dono....
