I saw one in person yesterday. I must say that I don't really care for the styling but I read that the 3v 5.4L has mountains of low end torque though. I think I'll get a Hemi powered Ram though.

i love the styling. i think its the best f150 yet. I cant wait till the lightning comes out. itll be SICK!!!
I wanna see how much power a swapped set of 3V heads will add on a 4.6GT.

i heard that the 05GT will have the 3v heads but its only gonna make 300hp....they will probably keep the Mach 1 or something and give it like 330hp and then SVT will have its Cobra

I think it looks sweet too! Don't ever by a Dodge....biggest pieces of shit ever! You'd think they would build a good transmission in my lifetime!

i'll take an SRT/10. the viper uses the t56 tranny. i hope thats what they'll put in the srt/10. i don't know what they're gonna use though.

mines lasted 135k miles behind 300hp and a havey ass truck.
and yes the SRT-10 will only come with a t56, no auto version...just like the vipers

Everyone I know that has a Dodge truck, which is about 4 that I can think of righ now, has had major problems with there transmissions. They were built 99 or newer.

Yeah Ford sucks. That's why F series trucks have been the best selling truck for the last 25 years and the best selling vehicle overall for the last 20. There were 911,597 new F Series trucks sold or leased in 2001, establishing an industry record. I don't have 2002's figures, but Ford outsold Chevy... again.

there was a post about this on fullsize chevy....ford lists "F-SERIES" meaning f150, f250, f350, f450....all the way to f-850 and all their industrial trucks in that category, just to inflate their sales and make them look more popular, becuase technically they are still "F-series trucks")....chevy includes 1500, 2500, and 3500 series trucks only, and gained in sales and is real close.....i dont have the link but it seems like they only sold about 10k-20k less last year

I like both ford and chevy trucks. I actually know more about the older chevy trucks because that's what i used to drive. They are both pretty badass trucks, chevy just needs to make a truck to compete with the lightning.

I agree. The SS is ghey and slow. How about an ls6 in the 1500? Or make another Typhoon or something. I love Ford, I just like competition to keep the power level going up.

from a Dealer out in Arizona....LS6 factory installed...i think it went for about $35k...ive seen one or two on ebay, but they were upwards of $50k all decked out, fully custom stuff though

That's ok... I'm helpin Chevy in that area... I'm makin the lightning killer for em... even tho i have about 210 rwhp I'll do it some day. But the soon to be "little" SS is pretty pimp. The concept had the same 6.0L from the Big SS with a Tahoe 5-link and T56 (probably have a 5 speed or the 4L65E in the production truck tho with leaf springs). It is supposed to be coming out early next year for under $25,000 and I assume about 4500 lbs, so it should trounce the Hemi ram and hold its own with the lightning and with the $5000 difference from the lightning you can get a Magnacharger and take her up to 500+ hp and walk the old Lightning and hang with the new one and the SRT-10... that is MY next ride... whenever it comes out, and I have money! I'm lookin at a 2007 MAYBE?

umm i probably will get a 3/4 ton pickup when i do buy one. the question is should i get diesel or gas.
all i need is something to pull a racecar trailer on the weekends.
i've been looking into this and the big 3 charge like $5500 extra for their diesel engines. if i get a hemi, vortec 6.0, or 5.4 in a 3/4 ton it would probably be about 28-31k wheres the cheapest diesels are like 34-35k

they scrapped that idea....and it already had a blower on it.....it was added as an option for the 2004 model year, but got X'ed a few months ago
