Had an 8am class, went to that, decided I would get in a few more hours of studying for my LSAT that I take tomorrow so I headed over to Dirac. Studied for about an hour and a half and decided I was pretty burned out. Walked out to my car at the call street garage and those fucking assholes gave me a parking ticket for "parking in a fire lane/fire lane violation". I was in one of those corner spots and the insides of my tires were just passed where the line starts. The truck next to me, and 3 other cars parked in a similar fashion to the way I was all didn't receive a ticket. So now I have to deal with parking services to appeal the $100 ticket.

Ive had good luck w/ the automated online appeal system. I dont think they read the justifications good and just click "appeal granted"

Those pricks were having motorcycles towed at Love the other day... it's funny, you park over the line by an inch and they ticket you...yet, everyday, there is an a**hole that has parked their car in motorcycle parking that seems to never get ticketed, even after I call parking on their asses....

yeah my friend got the same ticket...... he was parking as close to the wall on the drivers side as possible because he lacked a window on the drivers side, so he was half in his spot, and half up against the wall in the no parking zone..... im pretty sure they appealed his

There is absolutely no rhyme or reason to anything they do. The most obvious tickets they never give out, but god forbid someone should have their tires over the red lines, holy shit, Ill probably be getting my expulsion letter for it in the next few days.

Short of an actual firefighter themselves, I see absolutely nothing else that the fire dept has/would use that would fit in that spot. It's completely assinine. Just like why is the 2 foot section near the wall on some of the corner spots towards the science library side of the parking garage marked as a fire lane?

not with mine they didn't. asshole didn't even look at my new parking decal before he wrote me a ticket. they denied my appeal. luckily i took a couple pics with my camera phone.

as you can see, my new decal was clearly posted, yet i still got a ticket for an expired decal.

I hope they don't write me one. I have to park in an outside spot nearest to the road (Stadium Lot) with the outside wheels on the curb if I want any chance of getting my truck out of that marking lot. I don't even attempt to bring the dually in the garages.

Yeah I took pics with my camera phone. They were taken like 4 mins after the ticket was issued to, which really pissed me off, damn studying, just keeps screwing me. I didnt know they could write you a ticket for having an expired decal b/c I still have my old one hanging on my mirror (yeah, im that lazy).

First, its Brian. Second, i have the pictures still on my camera phone which show the date and time. Luckily I was walking back with a friend of mine at the time and had him come and witness the fact that my new decal was properly affixed at the time i returned to my vehicle. I'll get him to write a statement explaining what he saw as well.

LMAO. I got another note on my car today saying I needed to park my car 100% within the space or face a $100 fine for another fire lane violation. Tomorrow I'm planning on taking up two parking spaces, lets see what they have to say about that!
