i pulled 367 as she sits at norris' dyno, which is where i plan on going to get it tuned after the install. if i pull 400 after the heads (gain 30+ hp) ill be happy. the more the better
i still have a few things i can do to make more power on top of that. asp pullies, longtubes, electric waterpump, etc that can give me an extra 20-30 after what i dyno with the heads.
im more interested in trap speeds though, come winter i would like to be in the 117-119 range

if your thinking about heads, i cant say anything about the performance yet, but terry's customer service is absolutely amazing

The article I saw about their modular heads was talking about how they've been in the game for a long ass time . No performance figures that I saw though.

Ryan
They look good to me. The work around the valves looks especially good. That as I understand it is what seperates the me from the boyz when it comes to head work.

actually they are 4.8L heads
same shit though
11-11.1:1 compression
Slow ET

get them on a GP?
slmdLS1
09-17-2003, 11:16 AM
even better? are the chambers the same cc or smaller?
Tally TransAm
09-17-2003, 11:20 AM
chambers are the same as the 5.3L, however they are milled .015 to get the extra compression. i was gonna go for 11.5-11.7 compression, but i figured i might run into problems during summer heatwaves
no gp, regular price, 1295 no core. so 1095 as soon as i mail him back my stockers.
come with 2.02 intake, 1.57 exhuast, comp 978 springs, titanium retainers.
the springs and retainers are options on most higher priced heads, and comparable priced heads use at least a stock exhuast valve, some even use a stock intake valve. i think these are a killer deal. i may lose out on like 10 hp over a set of gtp's or mti's, but it aint worth the extra 800-1000 bucks to me

Make up for the lower power with weight reduction.

how do those heads compare to LS6 heads?
slmdLS1
09-18-2003, 12:24 AM
these massively outflow them. i think ls6 heads flow around high 230's around .500 lift for comparison, but its been a while since ive seen any flowed....im sure adrain will correct me if im wrong

09-18-2003, 01:04 AM
why, that looks like some good port work. nice deal.
Slow ET
09-18-2003, 09:07 AM
stock LS6s flow ~251 at .500 and upwards of 300 ported at .500. But as ryan said i personally dont think its worth the extra 1k+ for 10 more hp
slmdLS1
09-18-2003, 11:32 AM
i was close
That is some nice numbers! What does your LS6 intake flow?
