Ok so i wont be able to buy my exhaust till next year sometime so in the mean times id like to go a little louder. My exhaust has 2 resonators on it, will removing these make a noticable difference in sound or will i just be wasting my money. and speaking of money, how much would a shop charge to hack 'em out of there and weld some pipes in their place?

one a side note, i picked up the westin nerf bars friday and installed them, looks nice, ill post some pics later and the cold air intake should be coming around christmas. Thanks for the help guys!

I took the resonators out of the 4-cyl (yes in my ricer days) I use to have. It did make it a little louder, but it also made it nasty popping noise that most of the hondas with exhausts have. I would imagine it wouldnt do that to a bigger motor, seeing as how I have no cats or resonators on my car and it doesn't do it, it's just loud. If they are inline they would be cheaper, but I would say around $50-75. Hope that helps.

quit trying to make it sound like a white trash piece of crap and just wait until you can do it right.

actually im gonna have my resonators removed very soon..... it gives it a more throaty sound with out getting too loud.........

the exhuast shops ive delt with in miami were like 10 bucks a weld, 5 bucks a cut..... so 4 cuts, and 4 welds, like 60 bucks.......

im getting resonators removed and some flowmaster super 40's instead of my cut outs

oh and removing resonators does add a more popping sound for GTO's

Just had mine removed by American Muffler down in Quincy, right next to the Autozone, it was 49.95
They do really good work, I recomend them, gives my car a meaner idle

went and talked to ryan today at otc and he convinced me to forget the resonators and just go ahead and do the exhaust. Thanks for the advice

I really like it. If i push it to the floor through first it pops going into second but thats the only time. Other than that im very satisfied for now

sounds good, I am thinking about putting some glass packs where my resonators used to be, and keeping my mufflers

now your truck sounds like nascar

Just remember that those glasspacks (from what I have heard) produce more backpressure than the resonators. But it will make it sound nicer:mrgreen:

i would keep resonators on unless you are moving to wakulla. then you can get away with glasspacks.
