Those are badass pics. I really wanted to go watch, but I've heard that it takes people like 4 hours to get back to Orlando from a night launch.

just looks like a high end lens and a DSLR camera.
brett you could have probably seen it from the beach down there. My dad saw it when he was at an Xmas party in Lake City last weekend.

No its a time lapse. The flame only comes out 4-5 times the length of the shuttle.

naa, in both pictures from KSC to where the shuttle is in the sky takes about 25-30 seconds. I like the pictures better than the actual launch though.

Most decent DSLRs (D50 etc.) will do up to a 30 second exposure. Time lapse is a cinematography term and doesn't really have anything to do with still photography.

werd son. that Kodak point and shoot i had, i swear it'd leave the lens open for a full minute sometimes at night.
