Hey guys,
I know we can't fit squat in the back because of the terrible offsets and the stupid fender lip. I'm just wondering where you guys with aftermarket wheels went to get the lips rolled or cut, if at all. I'd like to do it in Tally if possible because that long commute to Miami sucks for just a quick job. Let me know, thanks!

Yeah, it is around somewhere. A few of us put in on it together with the intentions of eventually renting it out. It is a very nice Eastwood setup and worked nicely on my car. It takes some patience but works very well. Many people say you can use a heat gun to prevent the paint from cracking but I have not seen anyone do it without cracking the paint yet. The cracks are not visible except if you were to stick your head in my wheel well. To prevent the paint from peeling due to the cracks I used a little touch up paint to seal everything up. I picked up a good bit of clearance and fit these 9" rims with a 40mm offset and 275 nitto drags without any problems:

Or you could always be a baller like chase and go with 10" wide CCWs and not worry about rolling either. :)

That's exactly what I'm looking for. How hard was the whole process though? It'd be great if one you guys could help me out when the time comes because I'd rather have someone who knows the process guiding along rather than my idiot self winging it and ruining my car.
I'm planning on going with Ruff's 279's in hyperblack. I think it will compliment the my color nicely. If anything, this guy had put 19's Axis Pentas which looked amazing but they're a little too much for me. Are those AZA Z10s?

Psh... who needs rolled fenders
Are you talking about "CRZYLS2's" car with the Pentas? If so, please please save up the money and get those things!!! I wanted some too, but I was too worried about them rubbing and like Dustin said, I gotta be super baller. But those Pentas on his car are beautiful!! Made me wish I'd gotten a CGM. Of course I pretty much want to make hot nasty love to that guys car anyway, with that D1, cam, and 600whp of fucking awesomeness.

They are ASA AR1s. I like them for what I paid for them, but there is definitely much more baller shit out there.

Yeah, one of my rims got destroyed in an unpleasant incident on Tennessee street so I decided to pick up a set of cheap 17s and just move the tires over. Plus, I like running drag radials everyday and nitto does not make a 18" drag radial in a size that I felt comfortable running with the GTOs tiny wheel wells.

Yea, but the car didnt come with them and have you seen what they are going for???? Some people want over $1000 for a USED, CURB RASHED set. No thanks, I'll go aftermarket for way less and look way better. :fluffy:

What size and offsets were you going to get the Ruff 279s? I have looked at them before and could not find an offset I thought would be safe.

I'm planning on going 18 X 8.5 +35mm up front and 18 X 9.5 +45mm in the back.

You missed out on mine... I let them things go for $700. They had a couple little blemishes. I don't know why people wanted em so much though.

So whats the widest wheel you can fit on the rear of a GTO? You guys are talkin 8.5 and 9.5, but man that is not that big.

Chase has 19x10's with no fender rolling at all. Then again he is a FWBDB.

The problem is the way the GTO suspension is designed and the rear fender lip. Without the right offset you can get rubbing on the fender or worse on the strut. Some GTO's have real bad strut rub problems from stock struts being bad and alignment problems. I'm not planning on going any bigger than 275's if that so a 9 to a 9.5 inch rim is perfect for me. It would be gangsta to have something like 11's in the back with 315's...whoo! That would be sick!

I have the fender rolling tool. I also have a heat gun. I used both on my car. The paint cracked like an addict in a half-way house.
You are welcome to try it. If I have time, which appears to be rare at my new job, I could try an help. Dustin and I just sealed up the cracks to prevent any further damage. Months later and mine is still holding up. If I had it to do over again, I'd have a body shop cut and seal the lip though. Mine still rubs after 3x rolling on the driver's side. The rear cradle is just that far out of alignment.

I am not sure you will be able to roll them far enough to accommodate 9.5" wheels with a 45mm offset. I have heard of people cutting the fenders down to the welds and still rubbing with that size wheel and offset. You may have to run drag bags all the time or a stiffer spring (pedders or kings) to keep the car from squatting and burying the wheels into the wells. Like Ryan, if I have time, and you want to try the roller I can try to help.

Well, now I don't know. I know a really good body shop in Miami so it looks like the route I'm going to go. We'll see. Thanks for the offers though.

The name of the shop is A Auto Tech. I know the owner as I was friends with his son in High School. I haven't asked him yet about whether he can do it or not. The site is www.aautotech.com and I know I can trust him to do an OUTSTANDING job.

Get headers/tune and drag radials now... save up for some Sea See Dubs. Problem solved!!
You'll get your 10" wheels, with 275's and no rolling (maybe).
Or get some stiffer springs like Dustin said. Thats what CRZYLS2 did. He actually lowered his car, but the stiffer springs made it so that the rears wouldn't tuck into the fender at all. It looks AWESOME and works well apparently.
