Drove to tallahassee to meet 88bird, and pick up the programmer(nice guy btw)...but on the way back I claimed tail shaft #2!

started vibrating about 70...then the smoke started.. about 20 miles outside of perry. So I limped it home...due to being pissed off and not wanting to wait on a tow.

Got it home, jacked it up, and sure enough....BUSTED!!!


Any advice on what could be busting these things? Im gonna change the tranny mount when I change this one out...see if that helps.
Any other suggestions on what could be the cuplrit??? (keep the FORD remarks to yourself!!:mrgreen: )

pinion angle would be my guess..... take them shackles off the back while you are under there and do the flip kit..... it should get the geometry closer to being correct..... check all u-joints and plug in them MIL eliminators and be easy on it now that you have all that new found power.....

EDIT: look at where the drive shaft position is as in make sure it isn't pushing too far forward and binding between the rear and the tailshaft... you *might* need to shorten it..... FWIW the flip kit, if it is like the one i have, has holes that line up with pin in the leaf springs are offset to move the axle back and create less bind....
