The Q is a great smartphone. You might want to try going to the "task manager" and close any programs running and that should speed things up. One of the few problems with the Windows mobile 5 OS is you have to manually tell the phone to quit running programs that were opened. If that doesn't work you may just be in an area that does not support the high speed data transfer. Hope this helps.

i had 2 of them. lost one, and sold the other. I tried to load aim but it never worked and never had a problem loading pages. i still have the broadband access on my Treo and it works fine.

Verizon's coverage map of tallahassee shows broadband access pretty much everywhere within Cap Cir/I10. There might be a deadzone at my house but Im on campus. I just killed all running tasks so hope that will help.

Yea brandon Id like a treo but this think is only $100 during january.

yeah. The coverage map has one small hole on tharpe st just east of Ocala. Ill read up on getting AIM or some 3rd party "all-in-one" IM prog on here. right now my problem is setting other alerts besides ringtone to my own mp3's
Id like to use it as my alarm with certain songs. It looks like the only one avail are factory installed clips (midis, wavs, mp3s) that are read-only and locked in the ROM of the phone... May have to hack this bitch

So just an update: Apparently 15hours of battery life is perfectly normal with these fucking things....even though the specs say over 200 hours on standby. Brandon: how long are you getting out of your treo?

my battery lasts about that long. i always turn off programs running in the background and use my bluetooth, which saves the battery a little. i usually leave the phone connected to the broadband internet and on the car charger while im driving around. so its hard to say. PDA's arent known for long lasting batteries. i may buy a spare battery if i can find one on ebay and they are cheap.
