This quote about sums the whole article up:
In Miami-Dade County, the number of licenses has jumped from 2,200 to 42,521 as of Dec. 31. In Broward County, the numbers soared from 25 to 35,884.
"That's an alarming increase," said Coral Springs Police Chief Duncan Foster. "I don't view that as a positive trend. I view that as a negative. The more guns on the street, the more prone people are to violence."
I say if he is so willing to strip everyone of firearms, let's start with him and his fellow LEOs.

Well he kinda has a point though. Some of the people in the ccw class the other day had no business being around a gun, and the thought of them carrying one around town really scares me. For example, the guy that brought his loaded beretta into the class in his pocket, because someone's cousin's best friend out in bumfuck said he'd need it for the class. The same individual asked the instructor what box he should check on the "Have you ever been dishonorably discharged from the military" question if he'd never served in the military... I'm guessing check NO .

My arms are "bare" almost all of the time and I don't even have a license.

I carry.... the day after i turned 21 i applied for my permit here in GA.... it's a joke to get one here.... go to the court house, fill out a form just like the one you fill out when a gun is purchased and 3 months later you have a firearms liscense.... no class nothing.... i plan on taking the Texas out of state Concealed Wepons class to get a TX permit next time i'm there... reciprocity with almost, if not more than, 1/2 the US....... at least you know texas will be the last state that will ban guns.... i'd rather have my gun(s) and not need them than to need them and not have them...

Florida has reciprocity with 30 states, however those states will only accept the license if you are a resident of Florida. Wouldn't Texas be the same way since its not Texas' law, but the law of the other states extending reciprocity to Texas?
EDIT: It seems I read it wrong. It's only a few states that don't accept out of state licenses. The part I read was that Florida is one of these states along with Michigan New Hampshire.
