Are there any good steakhouses in Tally?

Just got accepted to law school with a $20k a year scholarship so looking to go out and have a good steak with my parents when they come up this week but I haven't heard of any good steak houses. Anybody know of or can recommend any in the area?

If you want a good steak then Nicholson Farmhouse in between Havana and Quincy is the only place to go. I can't believe noone else on here has mentioned it.

What about Marie livingstons? Its on monroe and the north side of I-10. I have only been there once but it was pretty good.

I would say marie livingstons. They have good steak and it is not a chain like longhorn or outback...and they are better IMO.

Nicholsons is great, i actually had my wedding there. But according to their website they are closed as of Dec 23rd. Hopefully they re-open.

Logans is the best IMO. Marie Livingstons used to be good but last 3 times I was there the food SUCKED, the service SUCKED and the fucked up my order EACH TIME. Whats so bad is the last 2 times I went for free because the fucked up the time before. You would think they would get it right because they had to give it to me for fucking up before.

Durango's used to have some really good steaks. i'd vote Roadhouse($$) or Logans. I havent been to Marie Livingstons in a real long time.

Outback has the best Prime Rib in town imo if you like that. Marie Livingstons is pretty damn good too. Hell so is the Silver Slipper. I didn't read anybody else's responses so if i duplicated everybody, oh well.

Nicholson's used to be the best hands down back in the day (late '80's - mid 90's) when Mr. Paul and his family ran the place. But after he got killed and his wife (Ms. Ann) sold the place it was never the same.

I think Logan's is good to go to just for dinner on a normal occasion. Not to celebrate something, though. Marie Livingston's is the place to go if you want to celebrate something. I have never had a problem with my food or my service there. And the steaks are awesome :tu:

You must have had a bad exp there. We go all the time and only had a small problem one time. They forgot to bring out the appatizer..big deal..They took it off the bill and gave us 2 free ones. The manager is ALWAYS on the floor. Unlike other restaurants I have been to when the manager is out ONLY when the good crew is working. Marie Livingstons USED to be good. I think they are living on their name now. I forgot about Gills. That is where my wife and I got married. Its an old Steak and Ale. Their food is pretty good and we get good service there. It is not a chain and you can rent a room to hold your party.

In your opinion? Well your opinion is wrong. Roadhouse has the best prime rib in town. I don't eat any other steaks from restaurants, its either the prime at Roadhouse or cook my own.

For a GREAT STEAK in Tallahassee include these places:

1. Bonefish (Fillet Mignon)
2. Carraba's (Fillet Mignon)
3. The Silver Slipper

None of those are GREAT steak places.. but Silver Slipper and Georgio's are probably the the best I have had here in Tallahassee.

I'm spoiled though, I've been to probably the 4 best New York steak restaurants.

Peter Luger - Porterhouse
The Strip House - Strip, Rib-eye
Sparks - Prime Sirloin
Old Homestead - Kobe

If I had to pick only one, it'd be Peter Luger's (Brooklyn).
