All the Aussies say the VE's build quality is even better than that of the VZ's, which is awesome.

Just about every one on the GTO board is relieved after seeing it finally. If you knew what people were THINKING this thing was gonna look like, you'd know why. This is tons better than some of the renderings out there. I'm excited to see that nose in some other colors. I like it from some angles, but others not so much, but it could just be the silver... not a big fan of silver. I absolutely LOVE the interior. I can't wait for August to see if they'll let me play with one a little bit haha.

Actually no LS2... only the baller ass HSV's get the LS2 (a 412 hp one). It's an L76. There was some argument over whether it was an L98 or L76, but it turns out the only difference is the L76 has cylinder deactivation. From what I've read no one really knows for SURE if the G8 will have cylinder deactivation or not, but all the GM stuff says its an L76. The hotness would be an LS3 powered GXP in the next couple of years (while they are still shipping from Oz). Thats a 6.2L "mid400hp" motor. Basically a "Car" L92 with more power.

Someone on LS1GTO posted a picture of the VE along side a new Altima SE-R... it's almost scary hahaha.

And I just read a Holden press release. It seems that the G8 WILL have the L76. The L98 is just the L76 with the DOD disabled. They apparently did that back when the VE came out because they weren't happy with the tuning of it, but all the bugs are worked out now, so DOD is a go.

Pontiac didn't copy a thing... except other Pontiacs by sticking that nose on it. Mainly it looks like they copied themselves (the Woodward RamAir 6 GTO).

Holden did the copying. Here's the "good" VE. Also these are the wheels that are likely to be the optional 19's on the G8. The ones on that pre-production G8 are the HSV 20's which we won't get at all.
