the car was too hot when i started to drain the oil and coolant, so i started at the top. gotta stop now because i got class, but basically i got everything off the top that i could get off before doing crap on the bottom of the car. i should get back going again after class, but i got work later so i might hold off until tomorrow morning
well see, going pretty smooth so far

progress is going pretty good, i really wish i didnt have to go to work today so i could get alot more done, but oh well
plan is go home from class, drain coolant and oil and lower oil pan, pull front of engine apart.
and tonight i after work i would like to swap the timing chain and put the cover back on, and pull the heads off
then tomorrow
well see how close to schedule i stick

i drain the radiator and as soon as i take the hoses off the waterpump, i swear 10 gallons of coolant pours out. my garage is a giant red lake

(if you look closely you can see small kissed on the pistons from when i bent 4 intake valves 2.5 years ago)

all i have to do tomorrow is clearance the rockers, put in the plugs, add oil and coolant, and hook the exhuast up to the headers
the only problem i have right now is i cant find my 1/4" drive 3" extension and i would really like to know where it is just so i know its not somewhere it shouldnt be
oh well, guess ill find out tomorrow when i turn it over
thanks a ton mark and bo

the same thing happened to me except with an injector(yes a fuel injector if you can believe that). i had to borrow one from a friend and i was afraid mine was in the motor but it ended up being in my back seat somehow.

Ryan when r u goin to dyno again to see how much u r runnin now
Tally TransAm
09-28-2003, 05:44 PM
well its back together and running
but not running well, there is a noticable noticable stumble at part throttle where the car looses all power and wants to die, also threw an SES light
got the car atapped and posted the results on ls1tech to see if they have any ideas. i think the intake might be coming off tonight because it might be an intake leak

you got atap also big dog? give me the linkie to the numbers
Tally TransAm
09-28-2003, 06:20 PM
jon ataped it for me
some of the things that stood out were
code p0300 - random low rpm misfire (thought i had it taken car of with cam tunign but i guess the misfires are worse/atap showed no misfired btw)
code p1133 - bank 1 sensor 1 insufficient switching (drivers side o2 sensor problem. sensor worked fine before but im thinking the connector was really dirty from all the coolant and crap that got all over it, any one know what i can use to clean that)
other problems that jon noticed at idle
Lterm B! was about 23-25 whereas Lterm B2 was at -13 to -15. both these would get at or very near zero when i reved the motor
inj pulse B1 was around 5 and inj pulse B2 was around 2.5
jon thought intake leak
what do you think about the o2 sensor. could that cause all these symptons, what about an intake leak?
i need to get this straightened out asap

CrazyBosnian
09-28-2003, 07:40 PM
Your Ltrims being different is most likely due to one of your 02 sensors being fucked up...I dont know about the inj pulses tho...i'd check the connections on them...
redmach1
09-28-2003, 07:50 PM
I think the O2 signal is an effect not a cause. You either have a leaking fuel injector, or a vacuum leak, either under the intake or somewhere else. Did you use new plugs?
Tally TransAm
09-28-2003, 07:53 PM
ill find out if its the o2 sensor in about 30 minutes

well . . .
it was the o2 sensor
i swapped the drivers side o2 sensor, reset the comp, ran it around for like 12 miles
and the car runs like a fuggen maniac, now i just gotta get it tuned
lets just say this, traction is once again a very significant problem
thanks chris, i owe you big time
