so i spent all morning WAPS testing for TSgt (E6) and finally i finished everything, i took off for lunch and headed down bemiss to wendy's and returned. coming through the south gate they checked my ID and waved me through, i wind through the plastic barricades and just as soon as i come up to the deployable emergency barricades the bitches just shoot up in front of me just giving me enough time to lock the brakes and slide on the wet roads (cause it rained all day) and i skidded about 15 mph or less right into the solid steel. airbag never deployed. now when i get out of the car and a gate guard is approaching me and i asked who threw the switch and why?? his response was that there was maintenance performed on the system earlier and that was just a random act. fortunately i didn't have my wife or 2 year old or 1 month old kid. but i went to legal and they said that it was like the 13th claim or something agaisnt that system. the security forces that showed told me i was lucky cause if i had been a few seconds sooner it would've slammed under the car possibly flipping it, and luckily it was me by myself AND that it wasn't an elderly person. but the base is gonna pay for the damages so i have to go get two estimates but no worries damage was only cosmetic. oh yeah my wife painted my calipers, whatcha think??

Wow, that is crazy! Really random. Sorry to hear it! But at least they are gonna take care of it. And the calipers look good.

Holy Fuck bro! I saw them out there working on it either today or yesterday. I've always been afraid they were gonna pop up for some ungodly reason on me. I would have been PISSED!!!! But good thing they are paying for it........eventhough it might take 10 years, lol.

man--i don't even remember that. but if it was the same night that chase was wearing my helmet in the back seat, then all i remember was the beat down on the stang at 3 a.m.

What's a deployable emergency barricade?

basically stops you if you try running past the gate without permission.
