We were at the a Capitol yesterday for 'Military Appreciation Day' and the picke me and 9 other guys to meet with the governor at the Mansion. After that I was one of 4 that went back to the governor's office to talk some more. Pretty good guy, actually seems genuinely interested in what people have to say.

I didn't vote for him but I'm glad he's the governor. He could stand to learn more about military customs and the military in general but he seems like he'll be a good governor. I think the whole gay thing has blown over, I hear from some people in the capitol that he has a hot girlfriend now.

I'd love to be able to sit down and talk with the governor of my home state. I got to go to a speech at Fort Hood when the prez was there, but it was limited to E5 and above... I guess they have a problem with people acting stupid, Fort Hood is the shittiest post I've ever been to. Da Hood :secret: Never got the chance to say anything to him, too many people.

Dont feel too bad. I had to go to war without an M4 and an M9 like I'm accustomed to. Unit didnt have them and officers were not willing to give them up knowing they'd have to carry 16's. Might not mean much to alot but to an 11B it pissed me and some other guys off!

There's a Cav unit in FL? WTF I thought that was only at Hood. What else they got in tally?

Can't say anthing about Cav units but Tallahassee no longer has a maintenance unit. 708th maintenance is now part of camp Blanding and the unit in Quincy is now 869th Engineers. (vertical construction)

*EDIT* Yeah, Ft. Hood is a shithole. Isn't it?

It kills me that they say the M4 is more accurate then the M16 in the article. Not the case. Other then that though... not bad. Cool that they do that kind of stuff.



And being in the E4 mafia is a good thing. :beer:

Yeah I caught that too. It's just shorter, doesnt make it more accurate, just makes it easier to handle in tight spaces. Any gun guy knows a shorter barrel shortens a weapons accuracy compared to a longer barrel.

Sometimes I miss being an E4. I made my E5 and now I'm plagued with so much responsability and paperwork... at least I got a raise :beer:

Too bad there aint any infantry units in town. I'd get out and go there! Of course I could always be a special forces reservist... lol

And yes, Fort Hood is a pile of monkey spunk. I thought it was supposed to be nice, but it sucks! I gotta constantly worry about my shit getting jacked in the parking lot when I'm there!!!

I hope Fort Stewart aint as fucked up. Benning was ok, Bragg was pretty nice, Fort Hood sucks hardcore hairy homeless asshole...

There is an Infantry unit in Tallahassee, there are part of the Cav. Squadron. C Troop 1//153 Cav is the new unit Identifier. I didn't say the M4 was more accurate, I told him there are accuracy differences from the shorter weapon.
