I want to know who you guys would recommend I take my truck to, I need to have my plugs and fuel filter changed. I would prefer a performance shop so I can talk about some options for down the road also. Thanks guys.

I don't know where to send you, but it's gonna cost you around +/- $300 for a plug change. They are a bitch. The fuel filter you can do yourself in 10 mins., it's on the frame rail, drivers side just behind the cab. Get a filter disconnect tool when you buy the filter. Cost for both is +/- $20.

For shit like that I would just take it to one of the tire kingdoms, all of them have some one from TMCA at them (or are there more than 3 of them?).

I know the plug change is a pain, that's why I don't want to do it myself, the is a TK across from my store on N Monroe, I guess I'll take it there.

+1 for being a bitch to do a plug change, I think 2 are easy to get to and the rest are a pai. I changed the filter on my friends truck in like 10min. I would do the filter yourself, instead of paying a shop $50-90 to change it.

That is the one I would take it to. There is a very good mechanic there, and he will help you out. I think he is on here.

I think I am going to sack up, stop being lazy and do it myself. I am thinking about getting some Accel COP, any of you ford guys have a preference? I hear they are just as good as the MSD and Granatellis.

I would go with the MSD, from what I have heard the accel's are stock replacement and dont do anything.

Weaponx is making cops for the L/HD motors now. Lots of folks are having problems with the Granatelli's. If you're not pushing alot of power the stockers are fine.

I would argree with you on the stock cops, but others are saying that L/HD motors respond well to upgraded cops and other little bolt-ons. What does your set-up include? I bought the truck used and I just want to make it run tip top since I use it as DD and for towing.

The motor is stock, with tr-6 plugs gapped at .36. It's got Bassani shorty headers, with the full Bassani exhaust minus the cats, chip, filter, ftvb, t-bars, QA-1's up front, Strange mustang adj. out back. I don't plan to up the boost till I get every last .10 out of it. I'm probably close to that now, which is why I put the adj. shocks on. I'm having some grill covers made to help the flow over the front. Lot's of L's out there with 4 and 6lbs. more boost than me that haven't run the times I have. You'll be fine with the 4lb'er for dd and towing, that should get you to 10lbs of boost, 12 on a cold day. Get it dyno tuned and it'll be a new truck to you.
