After killing the two in the elevator, the shooter went and took pictures of himself and mailed them to NBC. The return address was signed "A Ishmail" a reference to a story in the Koran (I believe it is the Islamic account of Abraham? I don't know, I'm not religious). He told NBC "I didn't have to do this, I could have left"

Real tough guy. I almost wonder if the gun control activists simply wont be able to make a case out of this as more and more stuff about this guy comes out. His disturbing plays, his letters, these pictures, students who were afraid of him, etc... etc... It all is available for all to see, and everyone can see this guy was a strait up psycho.

Yea, I read 2 of the short ones. The one where the dad kills his stepson and the one with all the teenagers. The guy who put them on the internet said that his first thought was "I bet it was Cho"

They said they had no proof the pics were from the time after the first killing, just that the package was mailed from that time, the video and pics could be from anytime....
Ishmael is from the Old Testiment, which is jewish, and although the Muslims have one story about Ishmael, it is taken from the Jewish Bible... It means God speaks or listens, something like that... I had several people mention it was muslim, like, do you want it to be since this guy was a killer? cause it is in the Jewish and Christian Bible also...

While logically it makes no sense to blame guns when you have an individual who writes plays talking about violence with hammers and even has a picture of himself holding a hammer. But as long as the scary black metal thing that makes the loud bang noise was involved they will.

On a more serious note. A lot of media was focusing on the shooter and how crazy he was, but not why he did it. I'm not condoning going out and killing the ass-hat with the Mercedes, the drunken boligatry, or the hedonistic butt-head that thinks they are better than everyone else. But sometimes people can be cruel, mean, malicious in their actions and words towards people. If you rub certain people the wrong way then they WILL snap eventually. This kid napped and his insane actions proved to be one of the worst shootings in history.

Well, from what I've read, it see's he was always picked on in school.

A guy who was in high school with him said there was a time in his English class, where each student had to take a turn reading When it got to Cho, he looked down and shook his head no. The teacher made him read and when he did, because of his speech inpediment, the class laughed at him.


Now, I was picked on in school badly myself .. bullied around, beat up, made fun of bigtime, problems with depression because of it, whatever. It had an effect on me and who I am today as an adult, even though I've been out of school for almost 6 years, but I never wanted to go to school and kill people or kill any of them now. Maybe beat the mess out of the bullies, but not kill.

I may get slammed for this, but anybody who's been the class nerd or just the guy pple single out and pick on, I feel for them and understand where they're coming from and I feel sorry and sad that he felt the way he did and most definetly loathe how the whole situation turned out.

It's just a sad story, period. Sad for the families, all the students and even the wacko that's responsible and his family.

People are bullied and made fun of in High School a lot. College is where people can change because you are not entirely surrounded by that immaturiety. He was not picked on at Tech and do you know why he had no friends at Tech? Because he chose not to have friends, just like he chose to do what he did that morning. Virginia Tech and the community are amazing and as cliche as it sounds that is something you would not have expected in that community.
