Car no longer has a cam position sensor code(P0342), but i charged the battery overnight yesterday, cleared the codes first thing today, and ran it until it warmed up and went into open loop several times.

P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire
P0803 1-4 Upshift
P0500 Vehicle Speed Sensor (error)
P0405 EGR/AIR
P0121 Throttle Position

Tony how many of these can we turn off? i assume the Cags(803) and EGR(405)?

and help with the others? the misfire,...i checked injecter plugs(all plugged in), the spark plugs are new and the boots are all tight, coils are all plugged in....so im kinda stumped there.

the speed sensor, the plug on the tranny is broken, but still accepts the 2 prong plug. i found it unplugged so i plugged it in and the code is still there.

I can turn any of the codes off, I must of missed the 405 EGR code disable.

Not sure about the P0300, the VSS code will stay unless you clear the codes and its connected. For the 121, hook up a volt meter (car can be off) and slowly sweep the throttle open and closed. Watch the Voltage meter and make sure it doesn't drop out. It should be a steady voltage.

ls1tech has a better definition of the codes...

the 0121 reads "P0121 Throttle Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Range/Performance Problem"

p0803.."P0803 1-4 Upshift (Skip Shift) Solenoid Control Circuit Malfunction"

as for the misifre code, its running really rich and obviously having trouble holding a constant idle. tony, just curious, do you remember what you set the idle at? ~900rpms?

I can look at the file tomorrow and let you know.

I wouldn't turn off any non emission codes. Cause if something goes wrong you won't know unless the car is running like crap. By then you may be in a bad spot to try to work on it. The computer is alot more sensitive to a problem than your butt is.

the only 3 im worried about are the p0121, the 0500 VSS, and the 0300 misfire, the others can be turned off.
