It looks like in July my family and I are taking a road trip to Massachusetts

Anyone got any ideas of must see locations close to or along I-95?

Ones I've thought of so far:
DC : National Air and Space Museum
Washington Monument
Philly: Independence Hall
NY: Empire State Building
Statue of Liberty

If your in DC all the major monuments are close by and about a block from the Air and space museum.

In Philly you have to get a real cheesesteak, Geno's or King's.

NY: You could spend days there. Central Park, Ground Zero, Museum of Natural History.

Air and Space Museum is an AWESOME place. I would suggest hitting up the IMAX theatre they have in side there.

Kings Dominion???

Thought about that since I went there in 7th grade. But we already have the Disney passes and go quite a bit. Plus I'm not sure we want to spend the whole day there.

i loved the museum of natural history in DC. i also liked the time i spent in alexandria VA. but the only thing that stood out at the time(youngin) was the TORPEDO factory--which was an art museum back then. i think visiting the empire state blding would be going through hell...NY city scares me.

I've driven in NY City a couple times, it wasn't too bad really.

The beaches in North Carolina.
Find a real brick oven pizza place in the New York area (RAYS).
Richmond has a cool Fort.
Jamestown has the original (replica) settlement from back in the 1600's.
Through Connecticut take State Road 15. It's a parkway that has really nice views & it runs parallel to I95

Special Forces and airborne museum in Fayetteville, NC.

Was stationed there 18 months, museum is pretty cool.

Not even thomasville?
Do what I used to do. On your day off, fill up your tank and just go. Tons of cool stuff nearby, especially for the people who have never seen it.

Had not even considered it. Not really into baseball. But since we will be close to Boston, maybe.

Of course, you gotta go through NY, NY and eat some real authentic ethnic food (Chinese, Italian, etc...)! Can't get that down here.

Georgia and Alabama don't count. They are just a hop away. Frank and I have lived here for 33 years. I meant really away.

My last trip to NY (in 2003 I think it was), I tried to get some good pizza. Asked several locals where a good place for pizza was. Finally got to one of them and it was "ok". Nothing great, maybe I expected to much. I'll try again on this trip :)
