Running up to Maine tomorrow to get some lobsters. Going into Boston to see the sites on Wed. Not sure what Thursday, NY friday for the Statue of Liberty tour, and Saturday back to Washington to go inside some of the places we only got to see from the outside the other day.

edit: btw I am posting this from our Van as we are going down I-495 back to Uxbridge, Ma. Gotta love the Verizon cell internet cards :)

What do they run a month without having a Verizon Phone. I know they are basically a phone themself...But I thought maybe the service would be cheaper.

$79.99/month w/ no verizon service
$59.99/month w/existing verizon service

this is, of course, after the initial cost of the aircard, which varies with rebates.

Looks like a great time Tony!

You can hack Sprint phones to be used as Phone As Modem (PAM), with unlimited power vision plan ($15) you can browse the net anywhere as much as you want (that is, if you can get a signal since their service sucks).

Alltel and Sprint also have these aircards and theirs are only $59.99 with or without voice service. Sorry, Brandon, couldn't let the competition go unspoken.

If ya want one come see me at 1560-1 Capital Cir NW

I use to do that with my Verizon phone since around 2003 or so. But if caught they will either charge you out the butt and/or disconnect your service. At least when i was doing it, it was like that lol. Might of changed now.

LOL yes that's the key, don't get caught! Of course, red flags are raised if you go ape shit downloading.

Do you know anyway to prevent your card from getting stuck on dormant? Ours does that and then I have to disconnect and reconnect to get anything.

I don't use the VZAccess Manager, I use just a dialup entry. I've left it connected for hours.

Is the indoor Statue of Liberty torch the original torch? I seem to remember that when they did the renovation in '86 that they replaced the original torch with a new one. Always wondered whether they kept the original somewhere.

Gt

Yup, thats the orig torch.

I've been to DC probably about 10 times, never climbed up the Washington monument, but it looks like I should have

looks like a fun trip...... is the summer still hot up there (NY - Maine)?

Gt
07-24-2007, 09:14 PM
Yup, it was hot during the day. The only problem with going up in the Monument is you either have to order the tickets days in advance or get there @ 7:30am to wait in line for the days tickets. We got there at 8am, they start givin them out at 8:30. by the time we got to the window, only tickets after 1 pm were available.
