Does anyone here run Royal Purple in their car? Is it really that much better than other synthetic oils? I've been using mobil one and have no complaints.

i use amsoil... never heard of that stuff...

Don't run it personally but I've seen the tests where people have gained 5-15 RWHP running it crankcase, transmission and rear end. I personally thinks it's a little pricey especially putting it in the transmission and rear end.

If you're really into it go to CamaroZ28.com and do a search for posts by a guy named PatMan. He is like the oil guru, does oil tests all the time and posts results.

I have Redline in my tranny and rearend, but those are fluids you dont change every 3k. Mobil 1 motor oil is fine.

I use it in my rearend, only because a friend of mine hooked me up with it. Personally I haven't seen a difference that would warrant paying $11 a quart for the stuff as opposed to cheaper synthetics. But I guess if you have money to burn......

I won a free case of it at Steeda Stampede last year. When I ran it, my temps dropped by about 10 deg. In SoFl, that was great. Now I just run M1.

I use Mobile One in the race car and when Scaro used the car he put in Royal Purple at his 2nd race with the car (i.e.Bristol FFW race) but neither he nor I saw any different. So............I would not use it unless it was free or you have more money to spend than you know what to do with. :crazy:
