Im gonna need new tires for some rims soon. 275/40/17's(10" rim) and 245/45/17's(8" rim). been doin a little research lookin into tirerack, disc tire direct, Tire kingdom, and goodyear. i wanted Eagle F1's GSD3's but are a bit too pricey, guy at goodyear quoted me $1197.11 "out the door" as my jaw dropped..... sooooo, few people keep tellin me they go with the Kuhmo's. have any of you guys ran/heard anything about the Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712's? it looks like i can get em(all 4) for $432 shipped from Disc tire direct(best price i could find so far)

i wanna stay away from Nitto's right now, as i dont want DR's and dont wanna(meanin cant afford to) buy tires 3 or 4 times a year. i drive about 12k-16k a year, but want decent traction and good treadwear. im lookin to spend less than $600 for all 4 mounted and balanced.

Disc tire Direct: (2)$160+(2)$117=$554 still not bad w/free shipping for the Nitto NT 555R DR's. hmmmmm

almost scurred to get Nittos....this trucks a little more top heavy when it comes to driving in the rain, dont wanna be hydroplaning everywhere.

Tirerack doesnt even stock Nitto's it looks like.

and now the Eagle are back into the mix. a guy on another board has some eagles off his T/A he wants to sell me...$300(my current wheels are sold for $300) and id need to find another used 275/40/17 to run them all the way around.

Ouch! Send me 250+ shipping and you can have the 2 back tires. Plus, I have another 275/40/17 off the same car, same miles but the rim it's on has a big dent to it. The tire looks fine (not even scuff marks) and does'nt have a "bubble" in it. I want 50 for that one only because i can't promise it will balance because of the mark on the wheel, but if it does you got the score of a lifetime. The call is yours on that one

btw...these eagles only have 4k miles on em, and he's in jersey and notorious for being a "garage queen" type

i have the kuhmos up front on my truck. 225/45/17. the steel belts in them break too easily in my opinion. one in the driver's side broke on me. i didn't hit a pothole and the air pressure was correct. my friend had that same thing happen on his integra. he was running 215/40/17. i personally don't like them. i wanted the eagles but i can't afford them. i'm thinking nittos or falkens. i know i'll need some bigger tires on the back of mine but i only have an 8" rim on the back. i would love some chrome camaro ss rims for right now but i can't afford anything and i do'nt know how well they would fit. anybody know the offset and backspacing on them as well as the size? i'd appreciate it. here's a pic of my kuhmo. you can see the big knot.

Brian are yiou sure that may not have been caused by a thinner sidewall? think it'd be different 225/45's vs a 275/40's??

im so on the fence with this shit it aint even funny.id end up spendin $800 even if i get those F1's used...although i did find a guy on LS1Tech that has some on his SS wheels(i doubt he would seperate) with 1500 miles on em.

I have narrowed it to a few....
1. Kuhmo Supra 712's ($432 shipped, w/pro-rated even treadwear warranty)
2. Nitto's ($554 shipped, no warranty)
3. Falken Ziex's 512's ($498 shipped)
4. Eagle F1's (highly doubtful now @ $800 even used)

Look at the Yokahama AVS ES100. Good tire, good price. I had them on my 18s and JD just got them on his car.
