so apparently 30k miles is about the limit for crane dual valve springs

tues i started my car to go get lunch since the truck is at the roslunds and immediately notice something is wrong. after driving it WAY longer that common sense says i should have, i towed it back to my house and tear it down.

turns out number 3 exhaust valve spring is in about 6 pieces. time for new valve springs.

ps anyone who runs an aftermarket cam or revs an ls1 to 6400+ better have dual valve springs. if you dont get them now, this is the 3rd time dual valve springs have saved my motor. rather than being out an entire short block from p-v contact all im doing is replacing 16 valve springs

carnage pics to come soon

Any particular reason why they keep failing, aside from being bad? Or do you just need some tougher springs?

Hard to make springs that can handle ~.6xx lift and the ramp rate required to hit 230 plus degrees of duration. They're badass springs, but they fatigue :-/

like ryan said, metal fatigues no matter how tough the springs are. springs that handle the cam the size im running generally last about 20-25k so these did great

truck is at roslunds cause idiot mall lawn mowers knocked a rock into the drivers side door causing a big ass dent and scratches

wow, 30k is definetly a good long life for those springs. I run patriot gold dual springs and i'll be changing them around 10k for piece of mind. I run a 244/248 .612/.615 cam.

forgive me for asking but don't the ls3 and ls7 motors have upgraded springs? maybe those would last a while with a moderate cam

They are upgraded yes, but will not be enough for any decent sized cam.
