And who would allow me to enlist their help for a very very moderate fee (read: might as well be free) to deal with what from here on out will be called the abortion. The abortion is the wiring and harnesses behind the radio in the notch. This radio does not work and when it did, only the rear speakers made noise. Now it dosn't even power on.
When I convert the interior to black, I had planned on tracing down why the other speakers don't work and addressing that. After having slid the radio out to find the abortion, I came to realize I would need a great deal of help. I'll post up when the conversion starts and anyone willing to help is more than welcome. Travis, how about a trade, your stereo knowledge in exchange for some red interior stuff if you want it?

Do you plan on adding an aftermarket cd player or keeping the factory one? If you are adding an aftermarket I can have the cd player and all four speakers wired with brand new wire in about 2 hours. All I ask is 3 bud lights.
I also have a brand new pair of memphis 3.5" speakers for the front if you want them $25

4 or 6 it doesnt really matter. I have 8 in mine right now 2 x 6.5"s and 2 x 1.5"s in the front. Then 2 x 5x7"s and 2 x 3" horn tweeters in the back. It just means that the front right and left will have 2 speakers per, and the rear will have 2. The mach 460 that I use to have was a nightmare as well. I didnt want to even begin to fight with it.... So I went out and bought 30ft of speaker wire and started the audio system from scratch.

Greg, your car may have an external factory amp. If so, it makes the wiring a little more complicated. I have done a lot of this in my previous life; Even won a few contests here and there. One trick is to use a 9 volt battery to find your speaker leads. If there is no amp, every time u find a piar going to a speaker the speaker will pop. Use a test light for the power leads. Let me know if I can help.

wow... just do what I do wait until you have way too much time on your hands then sit in there and keep screwing with it until you figure it out and it works, or you pass out halfway in the passenger seat, and half way in the floor :D
