I need some help finding the sound ordinance for the state of florida that regulates how loud a stereo or system in an automobile can be.

IIRC it use to be 100ft.... but then I heard that it got changed to "If they can hear it outside your car". I will look it up in my statue book when I find it.

edit: Statute 316.3045 says... plainly audible at 25 feet. It also goes on to say that amplified music is also illegal.

It is 25 feet, and is being pretty heavily enforced in Tally.

Whats annoying are those cars with the speakers on the outside that turn it up as loud as they can when they are driving. I here 3 or 4 everyday OVER the airtools.

If you've ever spent the night at Campus Lodge, there would be no sarcasm in this quote.

I did mean it sarcastically. There are DEFINATELY cases where it's too loud and something needs to be done. However, I've had more than one friend get a ticket for their music being too loud and it was just because somebody wanted to be a dick.

Same goes for exhaust. My friend in his TA with LT's, and a borla-mouth (old SLP loud-mouth with a bullet muffler) exhaust got a ticket. You fucking kidding me? Has this cop heard the shitbox redneck trucks around here with coffee cans for exhaust? The shit that literally hurts your ears when you're nearby with the windows up and the radio on. My friends TA was nowhere near that loud.

thats nothing, i had a friend with a 1500 chevy with straight pipes get a noise violation ticket in daytona during bike week.... its no where near as loud as a harley with straight pipes. as far as systems in my cars, i've always rigged a cut off switch to the remote wire so i can shut it off anytime i see a cop, just to avoid problems

same here i have the bass amp switch up front so i can shut it off in case of cops or when my 5yr old in the car. Of course right now i have no bass.

my issue is with a kid that lives down the street. he's woken me up at midnight a few times with his bass. that shit don't fly when i'm trying to get sleep.

And thats why I bought a house. When I lived in the apartments people would sit in front of the building with their bass on for 10-15 min and then get out and go inside (at 3am mind you).

That would fall under another statute not the 316.3045. I will look it up in the morning...when I wake up.

One thing i also never ever do is play my system loud where i live. One day that kid will find his shit missing cause everyone know what he has.
