Well, JD and Greg and I worked on it again today. Greg left after we got the k-member backup. JDs lowering sprigs didn't come in yesterday, so we didnt put the rest of the suspension back together. Hes hoping they come in tomorrow. I put the motor back together and JD worked on the O2 extensions. I got the offroad h in place and we decided to fire it up without attaching the Flows. CLick- click. Dead battery. We took the battery out of mine, put it in, and HOLY CRAP IT SOUNDS FRICKIN AWESOME! I couldn't hear any leaks at the header, Greg and JD got those tightened up real well. Anyway, JD will be pulling up with a sweet new sound at Soics Tues night.

First off, a big thanks goes out to Greg, Tom, and Tony. Greg and Tom pretty much gave up their weekend to help, and Tony is letting me work on the car in his carport for what's turning out to be a three-day affair. This is a fun job  . I've got a couple of pics if someone can host them. The headers look great in there, and can you say LOUD? I forgot what it was like to go without cats AND mufflers.

Like Tom said, we got it up and running. It has no front suspension, but it's running. Had just a bit of smoke from the front of the driver's side, but it was probably just a little threadlock burning off or something that we got on it during the install.

Have a set of front lowering springs coming in, but I don't know if they'll be here or not since the tracking number I got doesn't work (hope I'm not being screwed). Front 03 Cobra Bilsteins are going on as well. Then it's off to the alignment shop.

Hi Bryan  .

Wait about a week before you get an alignment. Give the new springs a chance to settle.

Sure seems like i've spent a lot of time lately on my back underneath my Z. Will someone please buy a lift so that installations can be done standing up like a man. :?:

I think I would rather spend that 2 grand on my car rather than on tools, tho it is a good idea.

Jack stand and a block of wood to get that frikin' cherry picker out of the way...... Nice job guys, can't wait to hear that thing pass my house in the wee hours of the morning.

We had the jackstand under the tranny to catch it since the hoist didn't stay up, kept falling real slowly.

Oh it's alive alright. It's just not going anywhere until the damn springs show up from the UPS guy. They were supposedly shipped by the seller on Thursday via UPS Second Day, but I'm willing to bet that the guy sent them ground and that they'll show up today after work.

Everything is back together on the engine and exhaust (sounds awesome  ) and the Bilsteins are in too with the new dust cover installed on the one that needed it. From here, it's springs, attach the brakes/wheels, lower the car and haul ass to celebrate with a tall cold one!!! :qball:

Wanna hear the craziest part of it? Tony can attest to this: There were NO exhaust leaks the first time I fired it up! INSANE- that never happens! I did the H-to-flowtubes connections, but Tom gets all the credit for the header-to-H connections. Thanks again, Tom! 8)

What about the head to header connections on the driver's side? Thanks meany. :(

EDIT by Big Meanyhead:

AND... Greg is responsible for ensuring that I don't have to go back in and tighten up the header bolts/studs after doing such a bang-up job getting them in. He's awesome :joystick:

Looks like the tracking number that the guy gave me on the springs is working now. I guess they just hadn't gotten it into the system.

Anyway, they're being delivered today so if I can get them from the UPS guy I'll install them tonight and roll. Yay.
