So I go to the Parts dept. last week at the Tennessee St. Ford lot to have the service guy come take a look at the car to see why my driver's door cup won't stay in. He takes hold of it and *SNAP* goes the retaining clip. So the Service Manager tells me that it was old, that the paint was chipped, that I needed one anyway but that he won't pay for it. Tries to guilt me about taking it out of the tech's paycheck. I say no way, he was just trying to help. I tell him I'll buy a new one from Parts if they give it to me at cost. He agrees.
Fast forward to today. I go up there, they install it (two screws) and I go to pay for it. Same Service Manager wants me to pay $42 for a door cup I know he got for $12. I call B.S. and he knocks it down to $28 and gives me his card with "Free oil and filter change" on it and his sig.
I love dealerships. I don't know about letting them touch my car again. Who knows- maybe they'll forget to put the oil drain plug back and I'll get to buy a motor at cost :bs: .
