Im Freakin Irritated!!

I got my new 62 pound injectors in, and it helped tremendously in 1st gear, but still does the same damn thing above 4000 in second = ( (loss of power and just not feeling happy). Its not nearly as bad, but i still think there is some detonation. When the shop put my motor back together Adam advanced my base timing 2 degrees, and I was thinkin it might be confusing the computer up on the top end cause I know it does some weird things with the timing, moving it around and all. Well if it is advancing it at the top end then that might be causing detonation and therefore causeing the knock sensor to detect it and retard the timing (up to 8 degrees if it needs to) and causing my sudden loss of power. This sound plausable? And would returning my timing likely help? Thanks, gotta have it runnin good for G'ville!!

Do you run 93 octane gas? Knock sensor could very well be killing your power.

i do when i go home cuase its cheap... got 87 in there right now, I'll try some 93 when i head abck to ft. walton tomorrow (its 1.60 or close to it).

advanced timing = higher octane required, stop using 87..it may not totally solve the problem but would most likely help in some way.

Yeah, puttin some 93 in there tomorrow definitely. And I really dont appreciate the fact that it is 7:30 and the sun still isn't up... but time changes tomorrow right?

wow... ok that definitely had nothing to do with my screwed up ass truck. Got OWNED by a 98 1500 Ext. Cab last night out at Navarre beach. He had an crazy fast built vortec 350. i got a head start and he ran me down and still got a length on me. i figured i would lose because he was so eager to come ask me for a race

he said he runs low 14's in the 1/4, it was embarassing
