This video was a big help in explaining why there is a "washed out" look when compared to 360 games. I bought a HDMI cable to play on my parent's big screen, and after doing this it's apparent that there is no difference in graphics, what-so-ever.

I would say xbox usually looks better since it is alwasy seen hooked up to samsung lcd panels using VGA, like a computer, so the RGB is perfect. Then you get it home and use componant or whatever which is never as good.

It's on 1080i.
I had normal cables on mine, then went to component, now i have HDMI cables, i say there is a differance on my plasma. If you have 1080p it makes a difference for sure....check all your settings. It didnt make much difference on my projection HD though.....

It's on 1080i.
unless you have an odd television, you most likely support 720P also.
For gaming I would strongly suggest using 720P over 1080i, it is a better resolution. Ofcourse if you have 1080P, that is even better :) for resolution, not sure gaming on PS3 would benefit much.

the only difference i've noticed with component HD cables and the HDMI cables is a horizontal line that travels up slowly. gayzor

is it a purpleish color. I had this problem with my PS3 and it was driving me insane, so I called tech and the told me to unplug my cable (for the tv) from the wall or the tv, and then it went away. I guess it creates some interference with the signal, but it went away

No it doesn't. Get HDMI... it'll look MORE perfect.
