View Full Version : Vacuum Leak Test
Is there a easy way to detect a vacuum leak, other than taking it in to a local shop.
BTW it's not for me, its for a buddy of mine. 2001 5.3 L Tahoe

I like to get a can of brakecleaner and spray around the hoses or the intake while the engine is idleing and listen for a change, if there is a leak you will notice a change when it pulls in the brake cleaner.

I've got a pretty good idea where it's leaking without even seeing it. Check the base of the intake manifold when it's cold. All this great diag. without even knowing the symptoms!!
