Private WoW server

i am running a private WoW server, and would like to know if anyone would be interested in playing. You can download the client free, with tbc expansion, or use an exisitng install. I can provide instructions, and it will not corrupt a existing install.

I will give everyone a level 70 character of thier choice, a mount, and 500 gold. You can level the rest of your toons at 10x the normal exp rate, and i will also increase pve damage. i am also going to make drops 100% drop, so there will be no reason to grind out items. I will also give out the high end stuff for pvp'rs...i am trying to edit the config so that the pvp sets are free. edit* i might set the level cap at 80, but we'll see. If you have an exisitng 70 on a blizzard server, just give me a link to your armory and i can give you the gear you have now, and better.


What I'm wanting is poeple to pvp with and against. the arena's are active and the server is set to PvP, but i wont allow griefing. I do not have auction bots running, so the auction house has nothing on it atm. There are several bugs, but its a trade-off for having to play on a blizzard server. I can only fix bugs with mangos patches, so if something is broke, it will be that way for awhile.

I will setup a website for registration and account creation if there are enough people interested in this project.

5x gold
5x loot
4x talent pnts
8x honor
10x rage
8x mana/heath recovery
8x reputation
10x honor

** you character should be created with 500 gold.
** the auction house will be populated with random items once the bot decides to get off his ass...

This is a test server, its as close to a blizzards server as it gets. there are a lot of bugs, ie fear doesnt work right. It will be corrected in the next mangos patch. Some of the quests dont work right, and some mobs are just retarded.
If a quest you need doesnt work, then pm a gm.
If your tired of leveling, pm a gm for a levelup.
If you want an item(s) that you cant get because of the low population, pm a gm.

for gm's, 96maro will be a gm, the rest are tba. Gt might be a gm if he pays me. I was going to make everyone a gm, but there several issues with gm commmands in wow. gm commands make the server stress, cause it to crash. Its not bug, its the way wow is written. ie, if you delve an item you havent discovered "normaly" its supposed to kick you from wow.
Also, a GM cannot be part of a party, or raid, in a instance or arena. They break the scripting upon entrance.

no, bliztard does not like private servers, and to call it anything but a "private test server" makes it illegal. Thats why I cant keep open registration going to long.
It will not mess up your current wow install, and it is undectable aside from the realmlist.wtf which is only two lines of text. you just revert back to the original text, and your ready to play on blizzards servers.

sorry for bumping an old thread, I just got back in town.

Pendrgn, I have the old character files still, and I'll see if I can use them in the new setup. While I was gone wow updated to 2.3.3 and really screwed up everything. the server should be back up shortly, but all the registrations from the web front are gone. I can manualy setup ya'lls accounts if you want to play now. i am sorry for this set back, and I really screwed up not backing up the db before I left, I had no idea that a update could take out my db.
