I stole this from Bill Putnam's post over on modulardepot (http://forums.modulardepot.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1381) . Which he scan'd outta the Summit book.

Whats really interesting is how it shows, that the your MPH in the 1/4 is not your true MPH. It is an average of the last 66' of the track.

Yeah look at your speedo at the finish line and its gonna a few mph more then whats on the time slip. Nice article.

ya, I knew it was an avg. I thought it was the last 60', not 66'. I was told long ago, they did this to lower the MPH posted, cause Top Fuel was going so fast. That the insurance companys were bitching.

Thats really interesting, i didn't know that. Figures tho, damn insurance companies ruin everything... first makin trap speeds lower, then muscle cars, what next?!?
